I'm going out of town this weekend with two of my friends. We are heading down to the Bruneau Sand Dunes tomorrow. There is an observatory there and we will camp out and watch the meteor shower tomorrow night. I haven't left Boise in way too long. Outside of that, I'm going to keep plugging away at Sound Shapes and P4 Arena. You?

Now Playing: Skyrim, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, Dark Souls

Now Listening: Bill Callahan, Ice Cream Cathedral, Magic Sword

    Nice landscape.

Sad times for this place when noone even responds to the weekend thread anymore. This place is so dead it's sad. Not that I blame anyone or whatever. Congratulations on having lives you guys. Bastards.

    Sounds cool, rragnar.

I'm doing... Um... some games... and working at our apartment. That's about it as far as I know.

Got into the Playstation Allstars Battle Royale Beta. What a pile of s***. Then again, I hated Smash, so I'm not surprised.

I work every weekend now, so I feel weird posting about my weekend anymore. I probably finish Dead Space 2 sometime this weekend and read some of A Dance with Dragons. I start back with the school district on Tuesday. : (

Will you be teaching and working the weekend job at the same time? That's rough.

I got myself in this mess. I signed for a loan for my mother and she is now unable (unwilling?) to pay for. The weekend job pays for that monthly payment and puts a little extra in my pocket at times. This convenience store is one I worked at years ago before my son was born. I know my coworkers, they're great people, always fun to cut up with. The weekends are slow enough where I can read, watch the potable DVD player or play a 3DS games at times. I work mornings most of the time which allow me to go out at night, though I rarely do that.

That's a lousy situation, but at least it sounds pretty fun. I figured it was something stressful.

PS All Stars is actually really fun. At first I was like 'rag is right, this IS terrible', but then i went back to it and got some more matches in and after an hour or so it just clicked. The whole game is built around earning supers because you can only get a kill with a super move. Filling up your super meter and waiting till the last moment to get a level 3 move is exhilirating. I usually suck at fighting games but I routinely win in this game.

The main combat moves are suprisingly deep as well. You can chain together different combos all of which feel really good if you can pull it off. I also like how the levels change as you play along. The Hades level is nuts.

I wont pay $60 for it, but for the $30 I paid for the Vita version, i am going to be very happy with it.

Yeah... you need some level of appreciation for the Smash Bros formula to really enjoy All-Stars since they're so similar.

The levels are fun, for sure. Love all the cross-overs each one has. That's at least one thing it has over Smash bros, so far.

My favorite is the LBP level where the talk show host comes on and asks these Sony first party focused questions like which one of these cities is also a mp map in Uncharted 3. lol If you dont get it right, they throw pies at you, but getting it right means you have to stand on the platform with the answer and it could get really hectic with 4 people on a small platform.

I played some Sound Shapes, I dont think its all that great. Very cool concept but there isnt enough there to make a quality platformer. For a game about music, the music is extremely limited. The user levels right now are terrible, you can see many want to make music from other games but the limited music options doesn't let them. LBP basically does everything this game does just a million times better.

We went to see The Dark Knight Rises last night. A bit inconsistent and random at times, and somewhat predictable, but on the whole a very enjoyable and entertaining movie.

Also got good medical news! Turns out my blood pressure isn't nearly as bad as we thought. Instead of being normal and healthy if I had been a giraffe, the doctor says it's actually within normal range for a human. I have to come back for follow-up checks and so they can take blood samples and analyze them, but still good news that I don't have deadly high blood pressure.

Gamespot finally had enough of its suffering and put the GGD out of its misery.
