ForumsSystem Wars › What does Call of Duty have to do to win ...

System Wars is a one of a kind destination where gamers can discuss, rant, and debate about systems, platforms, handhelds and the games. Not many people survive System Wars. The mightiest system warriors back up their arguments with facts.

Rules are simple:
- Read the Terms of Use and System Wars Survival Guide.
- Must be Level 10 or higher to create topics.
- Keep your discussions around what belongs here: platforms, games, developers, publishers, and stats.
- Don't quote more than one image in your post.
- Do NOT post or bump extremely abusive discussions (adult material/illegal activities/illegal advertising/etc).

What does Call of Duty have to do to win you back?

I'm just done with the series. I can't think of anything within reason they could do to have me buy another one.

Balance and unique won't help it, hell there's a few good FPS that tried to stray away from the CoDness but they pretty much get ignored by people then get ripped on for not being like CoD.

People would still buy CoD if it' stays the same or if it changes. It's just one of those franchises that people will buy no matter what.

Wut does it take to run a corporation.
If you read carefully, I said "none of us", which would include myself. But for one, if the demand for a product is there, you dont wait 3 years to release every iteration. You feed the demand with supply, and accept that it will eventually die. I agree with many here that it could be a better game if the time was taken, but from the CEO standpoint, the demand for the game as is, is there. You take advantage of the opportunity to make profit when you can.

Anyone who willingly denies themselves great games out of some delusional desire to remain loyal to some massive, multi-national corporation needs to re think things."

overhaul the game engine to meet next gen expectations, add a third developer to the leapfrog strategy and extend the development window to 3 years, focus enough time on the single player campaign and not just rush it, and cheaper DLC

I'll say the true answer that 90% of COD haters won't admit. All COD has to do to win back the haters is to stop being popular.

There's no point wanting COD to change. Tens of millions like it the way it is, and the people who hate it for whatever reason already have alternative games to play.
It's like saying, "I want Mario Kart to change to a Sim racer!" Just go play Gran Turismo or whatever, and let Mario Kart people play Mario Kart
