According to a report, CBJ-Flyer talks on Nash are really serious.
They can get all the scoring in the world...if Bryz isn't good, team goes no where.
I can't imagine what they give up. Coturier? Schenn? Read? We'll see.

Howson definitely wants Brayden Schenn and Couturier.
That's my thinking. They already got the goalie from them. So 2 prospects or NHL ready young players is what they want. - Jul 1, 2012 8:44 am GMTI find it interesting how the Flyers made it into the finals two years ago. All they have been doing since is trade trade trade. No doubt they've had injuries (Pronger) but I dont think getting Nash is the issue. They need defense, even if Pronger gets healthy he is getting old.

And they might lose Matt Carle, Pronger should retire and all they got was Schenn, who's 5th/6th Dman at best imo. Scoring isn't really an issue, and could probably upgrade it for much cheaper. It doesn't matter who they get though...like I said before, if Bryz doesn't play well behind that already solid D (with Carle though), they go no where. - Jul 1, 2012 10:57 am GMTWasn't it Biron who was on the team when they went to the finals? Given he had has moments of lack luster moments but I thought Biron was pretty solid. Though you could say the same about Bryz. Proving that its the Flyers D.

Satisfied with the moves the Avs made today. Parise and/or Suter were pipe dreams in reality.
Mitchell is a suitable replacement for McClement (and it became apparent he wanted playing time over money), Zanon is a big team first player and blocks a lot of shots, and Parenteau looks like an ideal line mate for Duchene. Still have $21 million left in cap space for O'Reilly, McGinn, and EJ.

Also, Adrian Dater, who writes for the Denver Post, keeps indicating the Avs aren't done trading. He feels a move involving some of the surplus on D for another forward could be made.

I'll remember that cause that's when the Bruins blew the 3-0 lead :P Biron WAS there, you're right. But it was 2007. He was solid, but he really isn't a #1. Bryz had a lot of ups and downs...and more downs. He's just gotta keep his head focused, and he'll be okay. Losing Carle will hurt, but they sound right in the mix for Suter/Parise. Sounds like Suter will go to Detroit, but nothing will be official until tomorrow. Parise and the Pens seem logical. But the Wild seem like a real darkhorse in this..could get both. Doubt it though. Once they sign, the domino's will fall. Carle will sign, trades will happen. Leafs are very serious about Brodeur, but Burke thinks he'll go back to NJ. Signing Rynnas seems odd, cause we could have Sparks in the AHL with Owaya (sp?) next year. I think. Clemmensen re-signing is odd. Markstrom/Theodore on the way out perhaps? Gus to the Red Wings, who were fighting against T.O for him originally. Good fit. They have a solid #1, so his role is a lot more clear. Should help. And the Leafs: Like McClement, should really help the PK and eat up a lot of ice time...solid 3rd line center. Burke wanted to get tougher and improve down the middle and the PK..did that with this. Bozak/Connolly on the way out it seems and Vancouver seems logical based on what I've read. Other than that...happy we didn't stupid overpay like a lot did. Wasn't expecting much, but hopefully Burke does some of these trades he's mentioned he wants to make And those are my thoughts :P - Jul 1, 2012 7:49 pm GMT

Oh, and to the people bashing Burke for going to the pride parade...go f*ck yourself. That is all.
lol, people care that much about his personal life? I'm also happy with McClement, a good role player it seems like. It feels like our Marlies are stocked up a lot, I have never seen us have such a rich farm system. EVER. The goalie situation for here won't be solved until we know where Luongo and Brodeur are going. I can't picture Brodeur playing for the Leafs, even if he would be a great mentor to Reimer and Scrivens (that goes with any team's young talent), but I just can't ever picture him without a Devils uniform. There are other goalies on the market, yes, but for the time being it would probably look like Reimer/Scrivens between the pipes on the Leafs and a rotation of Mark Owuya, Jussi Rynnäs, and Garrett Sparks on the Marlies/Reading Royals. Glad we re-signed Frattin for two years, and we also landed Mike Kostka, just coming off his Calder Cup championship with Norfolk against Toronto. I'm happy for Gustavsson, hopefully Detroit treats him well. Such bad luck here. - Jul 2, 2012 5:01 am GMT
Marty is back with the Devils.

Things seem quiet on the Nash front for now. Once Parise signs though Howsons phone will light up. I also think teams will up there proposals for Bobby Ryan too.

Have a feeling that Ryan Suter will end up in Detroit and Zach Parise will wind up in Pittsburgh or Minnesota - Jul 2, 2012 8:39 am GMT

And yea, they are that into his personal life.
If you have Twitter or anything, look up Bruce Arthur Steve Dangle or Damian Cox. They all went around RT morons who think Burke wasn't doing his job.
Like this: "well if youre getting paid to do a job then it should be your priority I know my employer wouldn't b happy if I was at some parade"
Or this: sorry damien but mr burke gets paid to manage the leafs, that should be his top priority.
Ridiculous. Patrick Bruke said Brian had his BB out and on all day, and the parade was at 2...so 2 hours after the market opened, and he walked for like, 1 1/2 hours. People need to chill out and get a grip. The best thing I read was: wouldn't people WANT the Leafs to be a part of some kind of parade?

Two other names that will likely pop up once Suter signs: Weber and Yandle.
- Jul 3, 2012 6:30 am GMTAs of right now I believe that Buffalo is the most improved team in the North East. Both the Canes and Caps have made good moves from the Southeast. Honestly my only question for the Caps is coaching (which seems to be the issue every year. If Dale Hunter stayed who knows how good of a team could've been).
- Jul 3, 2012 7:26 am GMT
Yeah the Roy deal works out well for Buffalo. A lot of people were saying that the Sabres got fleeced on the deal but from what I've read from Sabres fans, Roy was not popular among management and was out one way or the other. Ott essentially fills Gaustad's role as the 3C or bottom 6 winger and a PKer. This allows Hodgson and Ennis to be the Top 6 centers.

Also Dallas gets its Ribeiro replacement in Roy
