Will it have:

2 7000 Southern Island series gpus

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/342342/xbox-720-has-blu-ray-2-gpus-always-on-internet-rumour/

1 custom AMD southern island 7000 series gpu

http://www.tgdaily.com/hardware-features/60921-rumor-xbox-720-chip-in-production

or

It is funny how 720 hardware is estimated in todays PC part terms

1. 720 will not use a PC part

2. will use 2014 tech

3. will be made to last 10 years

.

So, obviously will be miles ahead of anything in 2013

Was xbox 360 800+ $ ?

You should look at #1, 720 will not use PC parts and the cost of the GPU is not the same as the cost when a customers buys it in retail

A PowerVR.ShadowDeathX

DreamBox 2 confirmed? :P

Modified 6670 sounds plausible. If not, some lower-end Southern Islands (AMD 7000 series) a la 7750/7770.

A custom made mid-high class between 8700 and 8900 series, with a custom clock speed and the cost will be 400-500$ initially

It'll be powered by a Mass Effect Core, and the new sytem will be called the Xbox N7

The mass effect field will provide superior heat dissipation, enhanced structural integrity (you'll be able to drop the box from 10,000 ft without denting it), and be able to withstand extreme external temperature conditions. of course that same field also prevents anyone from actually being able to touch the main power button, but they're still working on that :P

Honestly I think the 720/PS4 will had the equivilant of a 7770 or a 7670. They are much more power efficient than the 6xxx series. The 8000 series won't come out in time for next gen consoles unless they actually launch in 2014

It was beat without needing SLI or Crossfire. Also when the consoles first released they had shoddy optimization. My 6800gt from early 2004 was running games at better settings and fps compared to the Xbox 360.

They can always use a prototype of that tech like they did on xbox 360 with unified shaders for example

And then there is custom tricks like the EDRAM etc

Anything goes really. fact is these systems will be made to last 10+ years

When 360 manages to run it with better lighting than PC and at a super steady frame rate and above medium settings

It is crazy how 360 completly destroys even 2010 video cards

reach3

If it launches in 2013, it will have a customized 8900 series GPU. It may instead use customized dual 8800 series GPUs in crossfire. The ladder would give it considerably more performance and not increase cost by much.

IF it launches in 2014 then it will be much more powerful than that.

That may be true but Witcher 2 on the 360 looks like the PC version running on ultra-low detail and in sub-HD res, so yea...

Besides, you can get a card that beats the 360's for under 50 bucks these days (AMD 5670/5570).

I'm sure they will be supported for 10 years but it will be like this gen where the PC will pull away. I strongly doubt consoles will even be more powerful than a current high end PC. And with how CPU/APU are advancing and becoming more and more efficient, consoles will probably become outdated even more quickly.

The 720 will have a GPU that is 1X more powerful than the 720 GPU.

Who knows? Anyone saying they know anything about next gen system specs at this point is full of sh!t.

And it will sell as long as it is packaged with Kinect and a copy of Kinect Party.

Which will score a 4.0 and sell millions.

The bottom pic shows how the game could look like on next Xbox. 1080p with increased texture details and improved DX11 effects is what I expect from the next-gen consoles.

Most likely the modified ATI Radeon HD 6670 that rumors stated it will have. No need to make a console super expensive by using expensive hardware.

In case you dont know: parts back in 2005 didnt even costed half of what they do now (inflation included) the best GPU back in 2005 could cost 120 dollars as much, as opposed to the 500 that cost now. its illogical to assume otherwise

Yeah GPU costs have risen dramatically, as have the costs of other hardware. Expecting a 360 to get anything upwards of a 6000 series cost without either costing $700 or them losing money on each unit is just being very hopeful.

Considering their focus on Kinect, I'd say its likely they just give it the Wii treatment. Bump graphics up a bit and focus on Kinect, hopefully they release a Kienct that's accurate and responsive next gen instead of just packaging the 720's with current state Kinects.

7670 is just a rename 6670. 8000 still follows GCN type design.

Intel HD 4000 gets "devastated" by AMD Trinity APU** **No pun intended with Trinity's code name i.e. Devastator.

As long as its better than the 6670 that was reported awhile back.

-CC-
It depends if the custom dual 6670 (960 SPUs, 16 ROPs) is clock to 1Ghz.

It will be surpassed the moment it comes out...

360 was beat by Intel Xeon with a SLI 7800/X1800 Crossfire setup.

It was beat without needing SLI or Crossfire. Also when the consoles first released they had shoddy optimization. My 6800gt from early 2004 was running games at better settings and fps compared to the Xbox 360.

And yet, a 7800GTX SLI that would cost a 3000$ PC in 2005, cant even start Witcher 2, it is not even a supported card at all !!!!

When 360 manages to run it with better lighting than PC and at a super steady frame rate and above medium settings

It is crazy how 360 completly destroys even 2010 video cards

Try with 2005 era CrossFire Radeon X1800s...

Loosy your an idiot, SLI 7800GTX's would have ran you $1200, again your forgetting that fact that 7800's was still using the old methods of computing. You ran TW2 on a measly 5450, and a 7800GTX cant please..... Given that your card is well below system requirements, and that it is slower then a 7800GTX. The fact remains that TW2 is a direct x 9 based game and any direct x 9 based card can run/start the game, performance is a different subject though. Also again you need to stop living in the dream world the lighting on the 360 version is inferior to the vanilla Pc version let alone the EE patch/version. super steady fps at above medium settings god you have to be joking! the 360 version has a slew settings well below Pc's low settings such as textures, using bloom instead of HDR lighting , shorter draw distances. and of course hardly any shadows after a set distance above medium settings confirmed!
