Moderator's Hot Seat featuring Darthkaiser (Let there be poll)

Greetings denizens of Gamespot, and welcome back to the next instalment of what's to be an ongoing exploration into the strangest and darkest reaches of the internet – the mind of a moderator.

Important to note that this is not just an Off Topic thing, but a Q&A that encompasses all of Gamespot, with mods from across the boards and where all users are welcome to participate. There are sticky notifications in all the major discussion boards (General Gaming Discussion and System Wars) as well as the platform specific boards to brings every poster in every part of gamespot under one roof for this ongoing series. So you'll interact with the mods you're familiar with and get to know the others from different parts of the forums.

Oh you might think the life of a moderator is all champagne and caviar, fame & fortune, and prestige beyond measure. But let me assure you fine folks that nothing could be farther from the truth. For one thing we don't even get paid for what we do :P So now peer beneath the veil as you get to find out what makes us tick.

Each week (from Wed-Wed), one of us will assume the Hot Seat and take questions from you, the life blood of this community. Oh sure you could ask us what our favourite food is, or movie, or actor, or get our opinions on gaming. But why stop there? Want to know what super power we would choose if we could possess one? Where we would go if we could travel in time? Who we think would win in a fight between Wolverine and Sonic the Hedgehog?

Be inventive. Be imaginative. By all means push us to the brink of our sanity :twisted: And while some playful ribbing is permitted here (even encouraged ;) ), don't get outright offensive or insulting. TOU rules still apply. But also let me emphasise although you can ask about our experiences as a mod, this isn't about moderation inquiries, or a supplement to Ask the Mods. Also mods will reserve the right not to answer a question if it gets too personal.

Think of it more like we're all just chillin' at a bar, getting to know each other in conversation and just having fun. Take it as a social experience.

How did you come up with your user name?

Back in 06 I was a kid who had just seen the six star wars movies and I (as all kids) like the siths and the lighntning so I wanted a name that had something like Darth on it, I tried Darth but it was already taken, so I decided to art part of my name and something that made it sound cooler, I tried Darthkaiservlad, but I felt it was too long, I ditched the vlad part and thus Darthkaiser was born

The boards you frequent most, and unions you're a member of?

I frequent OT and OTAH, I often go to the PSP Forum, as for Unions I'm a member of the Pokemon League Union, the Gamespace Banner Union the Random Game Union and the Secret mod union that most people can't access :P

Some of my best GS buddies are in those unions

What was the first moderation you received and when?

Loool I found the item so I decided to share it with you guys :lol:

For some reason I decide to post that....in Ask the Mods lol :lol:

I'm not too proud of the person I was back then :P

Soulreavercross gave me that moderation that's how I became aware mods existed

So as the Sith Lord, which mod would you take as your apprentice to overthrow the Gamespot Republic, and how would you accomplish the goal?

I don't need an apprentince I'd take the other sith lord moderator and that means Darthmaul, two sith lords would be more than enough. As for the plan? I'd start by taking out the rangers and adding more glitches, removing tech support and let the mayhem begin, after I succeed, eliminate Darthmaul like a sith would do to his comrade :twisted:

Which game would you most want to see an M rating for? Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Ratchet & Clank or Marvel vs Capcom 3 ?

A mature zelda would be fun, as well as a Metroid.......mario well,

Thor the freaking GOD OF THUNDER!!!! He's a god he could prolly take all of those guys alone, but I feel he's a little underpowered here :(

Reboots seem to the a growing trend in this generation. Is there any game series you would want to see rebooted, and in what way to improve & reinvigorate it?

There was this TV series I used to watch back in the days called Keen Eddie, I don't think most of you guys know about it

I really really liked it, it had this "Snatch, Ocean's Eleven, Rocknrolla, Bankjob, British heist movie" atmosphere so that's why I loved it, only twelve episodes and it got cancelled and I still don't get why :(

I'd like to see a reboot of that, I'd even pay for it if I had the money

I haven't played it but I think that, it's just a Street Fighter IV with new fightin models that resemble Tekken Characters

Just a way of milking a franchise, still as a fighting game it delivers

Why yes! My morality code is something along the lines of this:

Do you support the standard ONLY TWO SITH AT A TIME policy or the sith army one?

I prefer the sith army one, two sith at a time has proven to be quite....uneffective, being two siths we can only be sure they'll kill one another when one of them loses value to the other

What is/are your favorite Star Wars based video games and why?

I'd say Star Wars the Rogue Squadron 1 for nostalgia reasons, but if we were to move to a more current game I'd say Star Wars the Force Unleashed, I liked that God of War approach while still managing to create a good story, one where you actually care about the main character, force unleashed 2 was a good game as far as mechanics go, but the story was just.....meh

Have you played the Sith Lords Restored Content Mod? If not, are you willing to allow me to assign you penance for your lack of vision?

Haven't played it please do give me a penance because it does sound like I'm missing something good

What's your least favorite current trend in the gaming industry and why?

I'd say DLC, while I don't mean that all DLC is bad, stuff like some extra content added characters costumes, tracks I can agree with but removing content from a disc to charge an extra fee I just can't condone

A healthy mix between both, I'm more of a modern rock guy, while still respecting the classic

Originally, when I tried to post URL links, they wouldn't work. I wasn't trying to use the WYSIWIG link function, but manual URL code. Never worked no matter what I tried. I gave up, and just posted the thread url's in plain text. Then Dracula changed the links and somehow offset everything. *sigh*

That is the code I was trying to use. I think that GS just couldn't handle so many url links piled up line after line. I've had problems having multiple lines of photobucket IMG lines when I tried to make a post with a sequence of images.

Edit: I think your problem is that you have the word "forum" back to back and it is not needed twice.
