    GameSpot is currently in the process of "unmerging" from the shared (game) boards with GameFAQs, and links to shared boards have been removed from many gamespaces. If you clicked the "Forum" header in a gamespace, you have been redirected to this board, Platform Games Discussion Forum. If you meant to access a game's shared board, back out to the gamespace, and check for a link below the header directing you to a board for a specific platform. For games of previous generations, such links may not exist. To access these boards, read below.

    In order to access any shared board, use the following link ... http://www.gamespot.com/***/forum/platform/***/ ... replacing the first *** with the name of the game exactly as listed on GameSpot, interchanging spaces with a - (dash), & with and, not including any non-alphabetic characters (if you are having difficulties, use GameSpot's search engine to find the game, and from the gamespace use the name the URL), and replacing the second *** with the platform according to the code listed in the spoiler below.

    ***SPOILER***

    Certain games may require the year of release immediately following their name as listed by GameSpot, in the form -####. For some older games which share exact names with recently released games, the platform selected may be ignored and you'll be redirected to the newer game's forum. If you experience this issue, there is another way to modify URLs to reach the shared forums (thanks to EJ902).

    another (perhaps simpler) way if you don't mind going via gamefaqs.com:

    go to gamefaqs and find the game board on there. Copy the board ID from the url (it's the only set of numbers in the URL). Paste it into the position of both Xs in the following URL:
    http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_topics.php?board_id=m-1-X&pid=X
    takes you to a generic slightly broken forum page but clicking anything should take you to the normal board.

    eg for [Mass Effect], the gamefaqs forum is:
    hhttp://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/944902-mass-effect
    -> Board ID = 944902
    -> Gamespot URL = http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_topics.php?board_id=m-1-944902&pid=944902

    Alternatively, it's always possible log in to GameFAQs using the same account on GameSpot and access the shared boards there. Please keep this topic bumped (a sticky would be much appreciated). If you are having difficulties accessing a board, feel free to fire me a PM and I'll see what I can do.
