    Looks amazing. Reviews say it has color MORE accurate than last years flagship VT30, for thousands less! Also has black levels equal to VT30. You are basically getting an IMROVED version of last years flagship plasma, for far less money (and improved cosmetics)

    Ordered it, will arrive sometime next week!

    we havent received the 50 series in my shop in ausytralia yet unfortunately , but compared to last years 30 series, in side by side tests, there was a huge difference between the st30 and gt30. I wanted to get myself a gt30 ( ouldnt afford a vt....), but havent managed to scrounge enoigh even with current reducedprices so I guess I will have to wait till the 50 series arrives Down

    EDIT: Doh, OP's message wasn't loading.

    We have the ST30 and it's amazing enough. Can't wait to see how the ST50 improves though.

    That's awesome. I love Panasonic Plasma. I have a Vierra Series 1 in the living room. I've had it for a few years now. I'm actually in the market for a new HDTV and it will be another Panasonic. This looks good actually and it retails at $1400 for a 50-inch screen. Tempting...

    The Panasonic ST30 plasma was argubly the most bang for buck HDTV of last year (Samsung PND7000 plasma gave it a run for its money), so I have no doubt that the Panasonic ST50 won't continue the same tradition. Panasonics mid range plasmas have always been EXTREMELY good, and very well priced.

    But what you are suggesting is that Panasonics current gen mid range is greater than the last gen flagship?

    I have yet to see any 2012 HDTVs in person (norway FTL) so I cannot judge for myself. What reviews are you talking about? HDTVtestUK, FlatpanelsDK and CNET are my main sources of HDTV reviews. And AVforums isn't half bad either.

    The titanic/mona lisa/bible/MGS4/Patek Phillipe/GT-R of speakers:

    capable of 1hz-105khz at perfect sound quality, the 12.12 channel Snell THX Reference system

    Mind = blown.

    The Panasonic ST50 launch prices are less than the Panasonic ST30 launch prices.

    ST50 has an ANSI contrast ratio of 5350:1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    That's more or less the same as the Panasonic VT30, and actually twice as high as the PND8000 from Samsung.

    Colour accuracy and saturation is merely 'above average' but with black levels this deep, contrast ratio THIS HIGH, can't complain.

    Oh --- and the gamma is nearly perfect.

    Lol, not the best. I prefer Flatpanels, HDTVTestUK, HomeTheater and CNET. and every good review is done by technicians.
