Oakland signs Manny to a 1 year 500k deal..

    Manny

Yankees ink Ibanez to a 1 year $1.1mil deal to be DH.

    Ibanez

Who will get the most from their deals? I think Ibanez still has some game left and think he will fit in nicely. As for Manny, well, it's a decent price. Still has his 50 game suspension to serve.

I think Manny can still give the A's their money's worth after the suspension. He's in a good place (personal life) and i think it will carry on to the field, despite his age.

Still glad Toronto didn't get him. Good move for the Yanks though.

Side note: Should a official thread with predictions and such be made soon? Spring Training has started for every team I think. Some moves still have to be made though, like Oswalt. Or should we wait until ST games start?

Could be worst for Oakland. Don't understand this move by the Yanks, are you telling me Iba~ez is a better signing than Hideki Matsui, Johnny Damon or Vladimir Guerrero? Don't like it.

And on the seventh day, God rested. Having created the heavens and the Earth, the seas and all they contain, He ceased all labors. But the seventh day being a Sunday, and with all of His fantasy teams playing, He needed a shortstop. So God created Derek Jeter, and blessed him, and said unto him, be fruitful. And Jeter was good. Jeter held dominion over opposing pitchers (.343 AVG in 2006), was plentiful in power (14 HR and 97 RBIs), and moved over the earth (34 steals) and across home plate (118 runs). And God blessed Jeter, and sanctified him, and said to Roto owners everywhere, make Jeter your No. 1 middle infielder.

I am also thankful that TO didn't want the hassle. I think a prediction thread is in order. I was getting some stats together but wasn't sure if anyone else has dibs. Spring training has yet to open. The pitchers and catchers have been there for a week or 2, but players don't have to show up till next week I believe. There are a few that have gone down early. Pujos reported yesterday and the entire Jays roster has already reported too.

I think it had something to do with cash, surprisingly enough. 1.1 for the year might be a steal with the short porch and tar mack we call right field. The players you listed might have been too expensive for the potential returns. I would have loved to see any and all of those guys on the roster, but I will give $man a break. For now.

I could probably get some stats together, if you let me know what you need. Got all the Jays stuff in my head Ya, you're right. ST has opened, but players have until the weekend to report. Pitchers and catchers are there already, along with most position players.

Ramirez should be fresh, relaxed, and ready to go after taking his maternity leave.

I thought it was his first attempt at retirement.

    .

I guess they injected some life into him. He needs a good shearing too.

Manny can at least teach them a few things about swinging the bat

"Back with the White Sox and Rays he wasn't very productive" they leave out that was about 30 games combined, small sample size. Yes he's about 40 now but worth the gamble. Maybe if we still had him we wouldn't suck as much and hey if there's a circus it can distract us from the McCourt's.
