I mean, they are both pretty much invincible, hulk cant be defeated, his powers have no limit, and the more they hit him the stronger he gets, he has survived solar temperatures and strikes comparable to a nuclear missile.

also in world war hulk he pretty much beat the crap out of every other marvel superhero...I think only the ghost rider at full power would be able to take on him, but then again the ghost rider in its "full" form wont attack hulk because hulk is not a bad guy.

so isnt it like the superman of marvel? both of them are extremely overpowered.

No, the X-Men got the Void to beat the **** out of the Sentry. The Sentry's only vulnerability is that fact that he is (or was) rather thoroughly fuxored in the head. Marvel and DC are fundamentally different. It can be pretty hard to compare them.

In general Every DC character will beat their Marvel counterpart in a physical confrontation (I prefer Marvel fyi).

DC tends to be the ultimate version of speed... or strength or whatever... "fastest man alive", "world's greatest detective", "the greatest of all the lantern's".

Marvel tends to be more about David and Goliath, "a world that hates and fears them", "turning frail steve rogers into", "Slight bookworm peter parker into the amazing". Overcoming great odds, or the weak prevailing.

Most DC characters are far more powerful then their Arch Enemy, while Marvel characters tend to be equal to or weaker than their Arch Enemy.

I would say Hulk is some what unique to Marvel's way of doing things and DC just couldn't work with a character like that. Especially since he was created in the Nuclear age and was a response to the fear people had at that time. It gets lost that he is a science fiction version of Frankensteins monster or Mr. Hyde.

Superman was a response to the great depression, the weakness, helplessness and fear of the time and was unfortunately the same as Nazi Germany's Ubermensch.

Thor is pretty equivalent to Superman, power wise. Especially now that he is more popular. Most feel Superman would fail pretty miserably if the two fought (yes, I've read JLA vs. Avengers) due to the fact that Mjolnir is magic and Superman is weak to magic.

I'll say he underwent a change of status during Siege, which was the event transitioning from Dark Reign to the Heroic Age
He went full-on Void, killed Loki among others, and the collective forces of the various Avengers had to kill him
He has more power than 10,000 suns. Though, I usually dont blink until they get up to about 30,000.

Well my 10,000 suns were more powerful than these smaller million exploding suns. It's all a matter of mass.

There are several Captain Marvels in Marvel comics. The one I'm most familiar with is a fusion of two people. Captain Marvel is also a DC superhero. The one that yells "Shazam!"

Nova, or at least *a* Nova, has a big role to play in 2012 with respect to Avengers v. X-Men and the events causing that; I doubt it will be Richard Ryder (my money is on his brother), but am looking forward to seeing what is what.

Hopefully it will be Richard Rider, but I could see them using his brother. They seemed to be developing him a little bit. Did you read that annihilators series? I liked the members, but the overall story wasnt spectacular.

LOL - I just saw your edit. We had the exact same thought on Nova.

Yeah, they also showed the new Nova in that one shot where he was warning Terrax about the oncoming Phoenix Force, and the word choice was definitely not very Richard Ryder. My bf suggested that it was the Phoenix Force from the Cancerverse and that that was how they were bringing Ryder back, which is a notion I like, but seems unlikely.

Part of his cowardice is that he's so powerful that he could easily destroy the world unintentionally. Though he could then recreate it if he did.

Hulk gets beat by the american army like everyday.

Superman has a The Army of Apokolips, Darkseid, Female Furies, and Lex Luthor to deal with to even break a sweat.

EDIT:

I'm a DC.

Well, really Gladiator was a pastiche of Superboy, since the Shi'ar Imperial Guard was done as a tongue in cheek homage of the Legion of Super-Heroes ^_^

I think Superman is unique in his own way.
