Which do you prefer? Only vote if you have played both. Try not to just vote for skyrimbecause the graphics/gameplay are better on skyrim, that is obvious its newer. Which has a better story, weapons, quests, map, location, ect.

I liked Fallout 3 a tad bit better because i feel like the modding community really turned that game into something special. I'm interested to see how Skyrim does once the construction kit comes out.
Vanilla Skyrim>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Vanilla Fallout 3.
Can compare the mods just yet, but Fallout 3's a given considering it's been out longer.
Overall, I'm playing Skyrim pretty much at the same pace as I did Fallout when it came out but I think that Skyrim is the better game. Fallout 3 was way buggier at launch than Skyrim is right now.
Not a fan of Fallout. Wandering around the wasteland was so depressing, so much so that I hate the slow-motion finishers in Skyrim because it reminds me of Fallout.
Wastelands aren't really known for their cheerfulness. Something about them being wastelands. Not a fan of Fallout. Wandering around the wasteland was so depressing, so much so that I hate the slow-motion finishers in Skyrim because it reminds me of Fallout.

I didn't say it came as a surprise. :P
sorry i could not vote i love both games way to much. fallout 3 and skyrim are my favorite singleplayer games this gen
Skyrim in a direct comparion is obviously a improved on graphics and gameplay mechanics and such, but at the time Fallout 3 blew me away. I preferred the desolate wasteland atmosphere and the use of new Bethesda mechanics combined with old classic Fallout mechanics. I hated some of its flaws and missed design choiced, but the modding community added a lot (though admittedly, that isn't a good statement on the game itself and doesn't speak for its true quality as made by Bethesda and on consoles).
Personally, I'm also disappointed Bethesda didn't take some cues from New Vegas and the modding community that Fallout 3 fostered. The companions and characters aren't nearly as fleshed out as the ones Obsidian made for New Vegas, with the same "similar voices" issue (though not as bad as in Oblivion), and I miss a lot of things they could have taken like Hardcore mode (I'm up to my eyeballs in food, drink and unnecessary sleep), companion quests and personalities, and a bit more depth in features like marriage (which is mostly a way to get an NPC to stay at your house for a lover bonus and some additional coin). Its also buggy as hell and combat could be better, but these are nit picks.
Hopefully these issues do get patched, solved in DLC, or get a little mod boost, and they don't keep me from loving it.
I know what your saying, but I think that mood really enhanced the game, it gave the world a a feel, unlike oblivion, which just felt plain to me in comparison. Not a fan of Fallout. My vote goes to Fallout 3. Haven't touched Skyrim in like a week. Just missing something that really distinguishes it from the other games Beth made.
So Fallout 3 for sure.
[QUOTE="UnknownSniper65"]I liked Fallout 3 a tad bit betterkhoofia_pikaYou're gonna take an arrow to the knee. :P
I used to take arrows to the knee for liking Fallout 3 more then Skyrim, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
I don't get why people hate Fallout 3 so much. It has plenty of problems (way too easy, main story is bad, etc.) but I thought it was still pretty enjoyable.[QUOTE="Barbariser"]
Skyrim, because Fallout 3 is crap.

Yes, people should like Fallout 3 because you thought it was enjoyable.
Also, the majority of people do not hate Fallout 3, only the ones who are right.
Skyrim all the way for me! Graphics, music, and overall RPG elements are much better. I also prefer the era of Skyrim over the setting of Fallout 3. Something about swords, armor, knights, and mages is just awesome. Not to mention DRAGONS! I had some buddies that absolutely loved Fallout 3 but I could never get sucked into it like they did. I haven't even finished 50% of Fallout. I think I may have gotten further in Fallout New Vegas then I have in Fallout 3, which is something I usually don't do, that being playing a sequel before I finish the previous installment.
Fallout 3 is simply a more intresting game in my opinion. Its something more realistic and I can relate more to a nucleur war than a world filled with dragons and trolls.arsenal262You see, I think we can relate to that pretty well here :D Anyway, vanilla: Skyrim > Fallout 3 > Oblivion > New Vegas, Modded: New Vegas > Skyrim > Fallout 3 > Oblivion
I concur. I really enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim was like Oblivion X 2!Skyrim is GotG so far, no doubt...
