So a 7970 comes with Far Cry 3, Sleeping Dogs and Hitman Absolution for free. Can't resist. I wish online retailers would allow me to purchase while the deal is going and then just hold it until I'm ready with an actual address to ship to. Hopefully, I have one by Monday.

nah, i just kept my regular kindle fire. there's not enough reason to justify an upgrade.

My PC shipped early Now it's scheduled to get here on Tuesday the 11th which is a hell of a lot better than the 20th. Still would have rather had it today which was the original estimation but I can wait 5 more days I guess. If I had known it was gonna come early I probably would have waited on Far Cry but oh well

My Anime List Now Watching: Ergo Proxy (1/23)

    Now Playing

    PS3: The Last of Us

    360: Nothing

    Vita: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend

    3DS: Nothing

PC: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn beta

    what did you get?

Dell XPS 8500. i7 3770, Radeon HD 7570, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Windows 8. Graphics card could be better (might go for that 7970 if it's compatible) and I'll probably upgrade the RAM sometime in the next couple months but this is more than enough to get me started. Should easily run every game in my Steam library at Recommended or better settings.

8gb of RAM is plenty. I still get by on 4. On the gpu front it might be worth waiting for the new consoles to come out just to see how they push pc game specs up. Also, by then new cards will probably be out, and those out now will be cheaper.

Oh I really had no idea if 8GB was good or not lol I only have 1.25GB now so anything more is a huge upgrade lol I just seem to see a lot of people with 16GB so I thought that was the norm. Glad to know I'll be good with 8. You're probably right on the GPU too.
