15:20 local time there was an explosion downtown in Oslo. Car bomb suspected, maybe a terrorist attack

Updates I have blogged about this so I am going to post the same here.

    Health personal at Utoeya

Here we got the murderer at "work"

It may be luck that it was a Friday afternoon that the bomb went off. Most people here are on vacation, and on Fridays most people leave the office early, thus leading to so few casualties after the bomb.

The episode at Utoeya on the other hand, was a Labour party youth camp. 5-600 people in their early 20's down to 14 or perhaps even 13 years old. There is possible two shooters, not only one. Police say there might be more casualties.

Some threats have been posted at a Al-Qaida forum and a terrorist organization have claimed responsibility, but the police have not (as far as I know) said that there is any connection between the guy(s) who did this and the terrorist organization. Personally I don't believe it either, as the guy they have in custody is a right wing extremist who hates Muslims.

If you have any questions then ask away.
The buildings highlighted are the ones used by politicians.
Something that is also worth noticing is that this is the worst that has happened here since WWII, so to us this is very huge. Another thing is that security in Norway isn't like you are used to. We don't have tons of security around the politicians here and the buildings they use. The mentality has been that it isn't a need for it, seeing as we are a very stable and peaceful country. Hey I have met seen the current PM when I was out jogging (this was a few years before he became the PM) Some english sources.

    =/

Saddening. I wonder what this guy's motive was...all I've heard so far is stuff about Norway being in NATO (which is responsible for the Libya 'war' and are present in Afghanistan too). You'd expect that it wasn't just a random spree seeing as there have been two events on the same day.

I hope the motive is our taxes and something else, and not terror.

I'll post more updates tomorrow. Latest I've heard is: 7 dead from the bomb, 14 badly injured.
The shootings: Guy dressed as a cop started shooting at a Labour Party Youth Camp, 10 dead so far, many injured. Cases are connected, the guy who did the shooting was seen in Oslo, close to the bombed place before the bomb went off. Guy is Norwegian. Motive is unknown, but some terrorist organization claims responsibility (take that with a grain of salt)

Do not invite me to your union. Doing so will get you ignored.

That and well the main building the politicians use. I'll update the first post soon.

Yeah..people think what they're doing is for the good of the country or to the benefit of the people and don't necessarily see it as 'wrong' par se. They aren't totally evil but they're certainly deluded.

@chris: is your immigration quite bad then?

That is complete delusion. Although you say he has a thing against Muslims yet he chose to massacre young Labour Party supporters (most of whom are normal Norwegians)? He also claims to have links with the English Defence League who are a Far-Right movement over here that will NEVER garner any support. I don't even think they bother to stand at elections.

The Labour party let the "crap" come into our country. He isn't a nationalist, he is a Europeanilist.
