3DS & NDS Recommendation and Future Releases Thread - Updated Jul 29/11

What is the purpose of this thread?

This thread is meant to be a place where GameSpot users can come and see what new games are about to be released. It's like an up to date release schedule for all 3DS titles coming out. Also, it features a reviews section for games that have been released already, as well as a community spotlight section where users can show other users what they think about certain titles. There will also be a "Game of the Month" type of thing for the game that got the most buzz/praise for that particular month.

Cool thread. Release date list seems a bit slim, though. There should be more coming out, at least I though. But wow, those review scores are all over the place. JustPlainLucas

The release schedule was a bit weird, I initially tried to use GameSpots new releases, but then it started saying nothing was coming out for each week of each month. I ended up going to Wikipedia to see the list of 3DS games coming out and picking out the ones that most people are anticipated for. Though like I said if I over looked any, let me know. So far I know I haven't added:

• Time Travelers
• Rabbids: Travel In Time 3D
• One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP
• Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D

While it's not massive, Miyamoto has promised for Mario to be out 2011, more than likely he means Super Mario 3DS. You could bump it up if you'd like, but I think an official date may be out at E3.

2 questions about the 3DS:

Can Region A 3DS play offline multiplayer with Region B 3DS ?

Can Region A 3DS 'share games' with Region B 3DS with single-card download play?

Ok everyone, what do you think about LEGO Pirates of the Carribean? Should I get the 3DS or Wii version? Such a hard decision (especially given that the Wii will have easier multiplayer, and the 3DS will be generally easier to play (in bed etc.)).

Any info. on the differences, and your opinions on what one to get would be awesome!

Seems like they're both basically the same -- going off of the GameSpot reviews.

Though the 3DS version doesn't have any co-op (locally) - the Wii version still has that, I believe.

It depends as they're fairly different. Ocarina of Time is a remake of the N64 game, so if you have any prior experience with that title, you know what it's like. Where as the DS games (Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks) are touch-screen controlled only games, specifically designed for the DS platform.

You can't really go wrong with either, but Ocarina of Time has more of a legacy too it and is far more critically acclaimed than any of the DS titles.
