So, I got my first hit on Street Pass today.

So I thought that i finally got a hero fro Street Pass Quest and a puzzle piece for the puzzle.

But how does it work?? Do I have to meet new Mii's when having the software on to be able to get a puzzle piece or hero? Is there anyone clever out there??

When you close it while it is turned on, it goes into sleep mode. It is the same sleep mode when you push the power button and choose sleep mode. Some software can get in the way of streetpass, so i close all software and close the 3DS when it's on the home menu. However, some software like Mii Plaza will allow you to find mii's while having Mii Plaza running.

Or that's what I think I understand It's not very clear no.

And I wonder about that too, Lojjs. I have 1 mii from the neighborhood and I don't know what to do with him.

3 for sight. 2 for sound. 1 for the touch. And you're out for the count.

I can explain a little more, since I was messing around with Find Mii a bit yesterday.

For every 100 steps you take, you earn 1 coin. Most things on the system only take 1 or 2 coins to purchase, however, you will want to have a BUNCH of coins because it is necessary to make progress on both games.

I managed to earn 8 coins yesterday just from taking a leisurely walk across the street to Rite-Aid, around the store, and back.

With those 8 coins, I bought 4 adventurers for Find Mii. So, I could play it.

The object of Find Mii is to take a bunch of adventurers into each stage with you to fight the ghosts. The adventurers all seem to have different magic abilities, but their attacks are pretty much alike. I think the magic they use is determined by the color of the Mii's body.

The adventurers are very expendable. You might go through two, three, or many more of them just trying to get past one room of the game. This is because the ghosts can scare them away, bringing your next adventurer in line into the fray.

In the first stage my first guy was scared off, and the girl Mii finished the stage and gained a level. So your adventurers will become stronger if you manage to pass multiple levels with them. Unfortunately in the second level, all three of my remaining adventurers were scared away. My last adventurer used Brown Magic, which summoned a Rabbit Mii to help fight, but then the Mii that summoned him ran off.

So from what I can tell, Find Mii encourages the player to go for walks or carry the 3DS with them in sleep mode as often as they can, to help obtain plenty of coins. I am sure the puzzle game works similarly - if you want to complete a puzzle, you need to have enough coins to buy all of the pieces. Also to note, you can earn a total of 10 coins per day I think, and hold onto a maximum of 300 coins overall. Check your user manual just to be sure.

I think you need to activate Streetpass on the games you want to use it with before it'll work. So if you want Mii's for Streetpass Quest, you need to go into the Mii Plaza and activate it. After that, it's just a case of going to the main menu screen on the 3DS and putting it in Sleep mode (just close the lid)....whilst in Streetpass mode, anybody you pass by who's also activated Streetpass mode (and also carrying their 3DS around with them) will have their Mii sent you your Mii Plaza and vice versa.

When playing Streetpass Quest, you can use Miis collected from Streetpass as characters. They start off at level 1 and can only be used once, but if you pass by that same person again in Streetpass mode on a different day, they level up and can be used again....handy if you've got friends or family with 3DSs that you see regularly. Streetpass Quest automatically saves your progress at least, so if you only knock off half of a monster's energy bar and lose all your heroes, when you nezt play it you'll be back on the same monster and it'll still only have half it's energy left. You can also 'hire' heroes for 2 coins ach but so far it's only given me level 2 heroes which ae quite weak and you can only earn a maximum 10 coins a day y carrying the 3DS around with you.

I watched a video of someone showing how it works with using characters in Street pass.

When he had passed a few people, the games that he had activated for street pass had a green glowing dot on them. This never happened for me.

Could it be that the guy i passed on the street had Street Pass activated, but just not for Mii Plaza?

I dont get it :/ im really disappointed that it didnt work!

Apparently they are only usable for a short period of time. If you met them like a few hours back, they become unusable for Mii Plaza stuff. Or that seems to be the case with me. The 2 mii's that were usable, I didn't use them and I put away the 3DS for a while. And now they're stubborn just like the first one

I had mine in my pocket today when I went to Wal Mart. When I came out I noticed a green light was blinking on the unit. I picked up a bearded lady Mii. Not bad for only the second day of having it.

Has there been any word on how close you have to be for StreetPass to activate? I drive for a living, so it'd be awesome if it could detect a 3DS in an adjacent vehicle..... I had my 3DS with me all day today to no avail, though.... Maybe I need to drive by more school buses.

Total rookie to the world of games but I have a Nintendo 3DS & I noticed if you put it on sleep mode & close it & sway it back & forth you gain steps & coins. You actually gain steps & coins faster this way then taking it out........ I know its cheating but I cant move around as much as I would like. I'm pretty sure you cant get streetpasses that way so I do take it with me when ever I go out. Took it to the mall twice & no luck with streetpasses yet! & that's what brings me online..... not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I want a streetpass bad! surprised no one has mentioned the lazy way of getting steps & coins....

No your not doing anything wrong, I think its hard to find people with a 3ds that is also in sleep mode. I've been to a Christmas Parade with tens of thousands of people, Christmas concert in a park, Two universities and multiple walks through crowded shopping centers and never got one streetpass. I hope this will change after Christmas as I know a lot more 3ds' will be out in peoples hands. One things for sure, I've been walking a lot more since I've owned the 3ds.

I have 35+ Street Pass hits. I've never had any problems using any of the Miis for the quest or the puzzles. The longest I've left them without using it is about 3 hours. You can use them for both the quest AND the puzzle not just one. The only ones I'm unsure of are the ones that come through SpotPass I have 60+ SpotPass Miis and they really don't do anything. They're not good for the quest or for the puzzles, they're just there

To tell you the truth I have absolutely no idea. I started getting them when I played Mario Kart and they show no data like last game played mottos or creator. None of that. Just the Mii, its name, and the date received and you can't do nothing with them just copy them to your Miis. I actually got Haziq's Mii through there
