tv hooked up to surround sound cant get 3d to work

I have a 3dtv that works fine til i hook it up to the surround sound. Both hdmi cables are high speed and still cant get it to play 3d. Any advice or suggestions?

Well, the first question we'll need answered is: What are you connecting your surround sound system to? Your PC? A console? a 3D Blu-Ray player?

Your receiver doesn't have HDMI 1.4a. More than likely you got an old model that was being sold for a low price to make room for the new ones.
Could you post the maker and model of your receiver?
