Something fairly (not exact obviously) would be Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War (1st game and expansions, not the 2nd). It invovles similar base building and slightly different resource gathering (capture points for one resource unlike BFME's build a ton of trees/mines). Warhammer also invovles building squads of units rather than single character units (like Warcraft does). I mean it is in no way similar to BFME if you consider one is fantasy and the other sci-fi, but gameplay wise... yeah it is similar. Also it should be one sale right now on steam.
I mean gameplay wise, fantasy or not it doesn't really matter that much. Would DoW 1 be better than 2 in this kind of choice?gigatrainer
DoW 1 + 2 are great games.... better gameplay than LOTRO imo. DoW1 plays a bit different to DoW2, but I liked 2 more... Have a go at the demos to see if you like...

Yeah, I meant LOTR BFME.... I'm just used to writing LOTRO...lol
