Yes, it has the dreaded Ubisoft DRM and no, this is not going to stop me from buying it. In any case, I would like it if people kept the discussion to the game itself and NOT the DRM. There are already tons of threads on it and I'm frankly a little tired of it cause it keeps the discussion away from the actual game. In any case, I'm excited for Sam Fisher's return after a 4 year absence. A demo is out tomorrow but I think its only Xbox 360. Yea I know, I check the GameStop stores and they have giant Conviction posters with the HUGE 360 logo and off in a corner is a tiny PC DVD ROM SOFTWARE logo.

I'm not getting it. I don't want to struggle with the crappy DRM that Ubisoft is going to use for this game.

EDIT: Realized what I said was off-topic. Oopsy. As for the requirements, they don't look too bad.

Nice requirements but Godamn it, ubisoft is using the same drm crap and there is no ps3 version for this one. Damn you ubisoft i really wanted to play this game. I am not paying for this crap. Damn, i hoped the crackers would have cracked the drm before ubisoft starts to think that they are unbeatable and keep using it in all their games. I can only hope that the sales will fail and they will be forced to drop the drm. Or release a ps3 version cause i dont have a x360.

Those are pretty reasonable... apart from the DRM. That puts a damper on it. I'll still get it, but much more begrudgingly knowing that i need a internet connection.

I will be getting it. People give Ubisoft too much flack for their DRM. They still make solid games, not like they use to, but still great. They are also one of the best developers at optimization. They were like the only company to make dx10 do what it was supposed to do in FC2.

No, the first 3 Splinter Cell's were stand-alone stories. Conviction DOES depend on some plot details from Double Agent but not to the extent of say... Mass Effect 2. However, Double Agent on PC can get rather buggy but it's cheap nowadays so what do you have to lose. Some of the bugs I encountered were scripting events that didn't occur, invisible guards, and falling through the level. Most of these bugs are encountered in the Africa level.

You'd think that they would have learned their lesson with AC2. I love Splinter Cell, but I and some other conscious people actually care about the industry and will not purchase this.

Me too man, it will hopefully leave a better after taste than Double Agent. Too bad we did not get the regular Xbox version of that game.

Didn't we get the Xbox 360 version of the game? Yea we did, the 360/PS3/PC are all the same, it's the PS2 one that's different. The next-gen one were made by Shanghai and the last-gen one was made by Montreal.

Yea, but I was talking about Xbox, not the 360. The next gen one sucked. The last gen was a lot like Chaos Theory which is excellent.

Even if there was no DRM i still wouldn't waste money on it.

This guy in baggy cloths that shoots everyone up is Sam Fisher, as much as Serious Sam is Garret.

Googled around and it turns out the Ubisoft Community Manager had tweeted that there is NO PC DEMO TOMORROW. The demo is only for 360. I speculate this is Microsoft's doing to make people think that this is a 360 exclusive....

I like to blame Microsoft as much as the next guy normally but in this case I think the culprit here is Ubisoft, when are you guys going to get it ? All the PC is to Ubisoft is a way to make some extra cash for very little work. The PC version will look pretty much exactly the same as the console version, there is no demo because that would have cost Ubisoft money to make and it obviously works because people keep falling for it. I stopped buying Ubisoft games a few years ago when they started using starforce and I can see this company hasn't changed (but why should it since no one will take a stand) so I will continue to NOT support Ubisoft and ensure I financially support other companies that do make an effort in the PC world because I love PC gaming.

I would post one of those facepam pictures now to show what was my reaction when you said that there is no demo for pc.....but anyway i am too bored.

(NOTE: By facepalm i mean a sad facepalm like "O god" and the facepalm is directed to ubisoft as my reaction to the lack of the pc demo but there is a x360 demo. I am not intending the facepam towards spiderman, i just pose my sadness and frustration towards ubiisoft and their move of not having a pc demo)

Anyway if this keeps going on, ubisoft is gonna ruin themselfs.

I'll be buying this game as well. I've been waiting for who knows how long. I don't really care about the DRM either, I mean I hate it but it's not going to stop me from getting this game considering I've been waiting for so long. So, there is no DX11 support, it's on 9.0? Did I read that correctly?

Thanks for clarifying who the facepalm is directed at! =D In any case, at least we will have THE MOUSE SUPPORT! Apparently that is a unique feature to Infinity Ward when it came to the PC version of CoD MW2. What's next, a console game will have a feature advertised on the back: YOU CAN USE A CONTROLLER!

First of all i said that in order to know that i am not insultiing you, in case you missunderstood. Second the mouse support in mw2 is "proper" unlike say, call of juarez bound in blood that it was impossible to aim plus the game ahd reasonable requirements. MW2 is not the bad port everyone is making it sound like, infact if half the games out there were as good ports as mw2 we wouldnt say games with broken aiming such as ghostbusters which if i remember correctly you have played and remember what a shame of a port it was.

With that new DRM implementation you can count on it to be as buggy as it gets. Don't count on much, Assassin's Creed doesn't seem to be doing that great.

Wow. That DRM is absolutely ridiculous. People moan and whine about drm all the time and yeah its usually lame and hurts consumers while not stopping piracy but this is just...wow...so what if your internet goes down (which mine does often-crappy isp) you can't even play your single player game? That is ludicrous.

Ehh depends, half life, fallout 2, deus ex, far cry, quake 2, I am not a fan of the way the new pc games are going like crysis or stalker but i loved the witcher and arma 2 is pretty good if you wanna mess around. I also love oblivion and fallout 3 on pc. Sadly i cant say the same about mass effect and assasin creed. It really depends from the game. eg: i did not like hl2 much, i thought both episodes were better. Surpisingly i did like far cry 2!! As for splinter cell, i played them all and double agent was the defintion of garbage. If i am gonna buy the pc version and i end up more screwed up than buying the console version..then no i dont like pc games or ubisoft pc versions.

Part of the reason for the low requirements is the game engine they're using, Unreal Engine 2.5, but they call it LEAD because they modified it. By how much, I have no idea.

Decently low requirements, but it still has that rather bad DRM. I'm backed up with games as it is, so I'm going to see if I can wait until this game gets rather low in price.

I will respect the TC's wishes about the DRM but I won't be buying this game. Even look at the system requirements. They are as high/higher than Crysis but looks worse. Sounds like poor optimization to me.
