I really loved DBZ until it got weird with the Majin Buu or whatever it's called. I also liked watching Yu Yu Hakusho. Is there any good anime you guys know besides Naruto and Avatar?

None of those are good anime to begin with...
You should try Full Metal Alchemist, Rurouni Kenshin, Wolf's Rain, Heroic Age, and Ga-Rei Zero.
Also, if you feel like stepping out of your comfort zone (Shonen), you should try Baccano!, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Chobits.
Can't go wrong with Monster, FullMetal Alchemist, FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Rahxephon, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf Rain, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Death Note, Trigun, and most of the Gundam Franchise (except Gundam Seed, G Gundamand SD Gundam)
Mostly everything I'd recommend has already been said so I'll just say Fooly Cooly.LightROh yeah thats pretty much the only anime I've ever been interested in
For some reason I'm not to sure about that one lol. Twas a joke. >_>[QUOTE="the_foreign_guy"]I'd say try Tentacle High. jasonharris48
My personal favorites are Cowboy Bebop and Lucky Star, and Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing are very good.

Akira - A movie anyone interested in anime should see. It pretty much defined anime
Death Note - One of the best and more intelligent anime to have aired in recent memory
Elfen Lied - A bizzare yet very entertaining show. It's also very short (13 episodes)
Cowboy Beebop - Another cIassic anime. The ending is one of the best out there too.
Clannad and Clannad: After Story (essentially two seasons of the same show) - Easily the highest quality drama anime out there. Has some of the best character development I've ever seen. The only way you want get very emotionally involved in the show and the characters' lives is if you're a psychopath.
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and Higurashi no Naku Koro Rei (again, two seasons of the same show) - A horror mind **** anime. Let's just say it's "unique" and leave it at that.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - The epitome of the mecha genre
Paranoia Agent - To be honest this show requires a special taste as the pacing can be slow. There's really only two camps when it comes to this show: People who loved it and people who absolutely hated it. If you don't mind a lack of action but like a good, intriguing story, this is the show for you.
GTO - It's a comedy about an ex-bike gang leader who decides to become a teacher. When he arrives at his first teaching gig he finds that the students are rather ill behaved and decides to fight fire with fire by administering street justice in the classroom. It's well worth watching.
Fooly Cooly - Only six episodes long so it's easily completed in a single day. It's one of the more bizzare anime out there. To give you an idea of how weird this show is, the plot can be summed as a boy falls in love with an alien space pirate who summons weapons of mass destruction through his forehead by banging him with a guitar. Yeah...
Those are my recommendations. All of those shows are very highly regarded and I dare say that they're the cream of the crop as far as anime is concerned. If you want excellent anime to watch, you need look no farther than what I've given you above.

Yeah, it seems that not many people know about it around here. It's a very underrated anime.

If you liked DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, and Avatar. I say Bleach is right up your alley.

AS most of the good anime have been recommended, I would totally recommend you guys to watch CODE GEASS. You'll not regret it. Not your typical anime movie.

I strongly disagree with this notion. What is mentioned here barely scratches the surface.
Ok, let me reprase, "as most of the good anime that I know of have been recommended". =p[QUOTE="ghoklebutter"]

I've read a few volumes of the manga. How does the anime compare to it?I never really read the manga (browsed quickly through a volume or two though) so I can't say. However, the anime is very good and there isn't any filler. So unless GTO is one of those series where the anime is nothing like the manga (ex: Excel Saga) then I'd imagine it's pretty faithful to the original work.
The only anime show I can think of that interested me was called Trigun. I was just a wee little giblet at the time though.
