I am looking for a good turn base rpg, similiar to ps2's Final Fantasy 10 or 7. Please don't say Diablo or any hack and slash rpg, I want something similiar to FFX's gameplay. Thanks.

The only one you're going to find is Septerra Core.

Aside from that, here's a list of other turn-based wRPGs:

    • Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
    • Icewind Dale 1 and 2
    • Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2
    • Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2
    • Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics
    • Disciples 1 and 2 (these two are more like turn-based strategy games with RPG-like elements)

Anachronox is another RPG that is similar to the FF games and it's really quite good but it may be hard to find. Wizardry 8 and The Temple of Elemental Evil aren't similar to the console games you mentioned they're more CRPGs but they are very much turn-based. Wizardry 8 is also very good. Arcanum is another good CRPG that  has turn-based combat.

Fallout 1 & 2 are great and as mentioned they are also TB. Some of the other games listed above have more of a pseudo-turn-based combat model meaning you can pause during combat but most of the action is carried out in realtime.

As mentioned, Septerra Core is about the only turn-based JRPG you'll find on the PC, though The Last Remnant that's coming up is also going to fit that bill.

Gators wants an RPG like Final Fantasy, AKA a JRPG. King's Bounty isn't one.

turn based rpg is pretty much a console specialty, becoz the best titles out there are invariably jrps. you can ( and definitely should ) get a ps2 if you're looking to play the best turn based rpgs of the decade.

on pc, you have a small number of turn based rpg/strategy hybrids, for instance Silent Storm, Jagged Alliance series, and the recently released King's Bounty. they are nothing like Final Fantasy tho.

oh shoot, how can i forget? the old Fallout games are turn-based rpgs. Wizardy 8 is another title that comes to mind. these are all great games -- but again, nothing like Final Fantasy.

well, FF rpgs don't have hexed combat system of any sort. in fact, up until FFX, player characters are all immobile -- but of coz that doesn't stop them from becoming the best games of the era.

Hmm, as I read your quote I was thinking "I could of swore I saw a hexed combat in FF game". After googling some flashbacks, I remebered that the FF Tactics Advane for Gameboy was hexed combat. So yea.. its all clear now

If you're willing to put up with Fan-made translation patches, there is a franchise called Legend of Heroes which, from what I can muster, seems to be fairly popular in Japan. I'm sure Wikipedia could be far more enlightening than I.

This is probably obnoxious and will never be read but .....

could of is really could've which is the contraction for could have.

Given that, then could of swore then should be could have sworn.

For all of you "would of"s, "could of"s, and "should of"s, it's would've, could've, and should've ie would have, could have, and should have.
