Been using my PS3 to playback video (MPEG2 TS) via my mythtv linux box. All fine apart form the fact that certain recordings with AC3 audio tracks don't appear to be handled.

Along comes V2.10 with DIVX support.. I've a few of those so I upgraded..

DivX playback by copying the files or streaming via uPnP works great.. Now I can watch Daxter in comfort..

However the updata appears to have broken mpeg2 TS streaming via uPnP, oddly enough if I copy the file via uPnP it will playback as a localfile but streaming simply results in a (The data is currupt).

    Pain!!

Have you noticed now though?_that now when downloading stuff from store that we've now the option to play as we download, rather than just download in background?

That's been around since the last update.

    Quick update..

Reported the issue to Sony.. and I'm not unique..with this uPnP problem.. Apparently V2.10 has increased uPnP "Security" and it breaks streaming... No date on resolution but I assume it will be fixed in a minor release soon..

More updates if I hear anything...

    Anyone else heard anything?

I've just spotted a blog entry where somebody says that the MPEG2 streaming problems introduced in V2.10 PS3 firmware is fixed in V2.20.

I've not got a home broadband connection at the moment so I'm burning the update to CD for later.. But if anyone could confirm that the 2.20 update fixes the problem that would be great

I can confirm that not only does the V2.20 PS3 firmware update fix the MPEG streaming problems that where introduced in V2.10 but also the occasinional missing audio from certain AC3 now works.

The PS3 is now the bext MythTV / Media Center frontend on the market..
