I'm going to get a PS3 and I just want to know if a PAL PS3 can play NTSC games?

And can these games which are PAL(PS2 games)play on a PAL PS3?

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, God of War 1 and 2?

    Thanks for the help.

    PS3 games are region free.

Everything else is coded to individual regions with exception to selected Blu-Ray movies.

You can play PS3 games from any region as long as your TV supports the required output.

PS2 games are region locked to that consoles location. Except on the 40 GB model which doesn't play PS2 games at all.

I have PS3 games here from Australia, Europe, Japan, Asia, North America so yes I'm sure games from any region work.

I can't comment on the PS2 games as I sold my PS2 and collection a long time before I bought my PS3.

PS3 games are region free, but PS2 games are still region locked. Reason why I still have my Asia region PS2 hooked up.

Think Sony got enough shooters now that they have to announce MAG, which is not even in production stage yet?

Thanks for the help guys, the fact that the PS3 can play any PS3 game (from any region) must be a big selling point.

Also is there any thing I should check on the PS3 box before I buy it, like if I remember correctly to get a good PS2 with a good laser youshould check the bar code or something like that?

Also how that price for the PS3?

    Thanks for the help guys.

Only thing to really look for is to not get the 40 GB system considering your interest in playing PS2 games. It will not play them at all, the backward compatibility was taken out of that model altogether.
