What resolution should I set my 360 on? 720p or 1080p?

I recently just got a new LCD tv that can support 1080p over component but since most 360 games are 720p/1080i native, should I keep it at 720p? or the upscaled 1080p?

Okay I have a question? Can you change the 360's resolution? Or just your TV? Because I have about a 8 year old Magnovox 20 inch television. And when I play NHL 08 I can barely read the scoreboard. If I change the resolution on the 360 will it effect the graphics?

Theres 2 opinions on scaling, the one you'll hear most frequently is to set the 360 to the native resolution of your TV. I know you said your TV is capable of 1080p, but I'm not clear if that is its native resolution or not. Some say they have a sharper picture by doing it this way.

Others say that upscaling past your native resolution (or, setting the 360 to a higher res than your TV's native res) then letting the GPU downscale it back to native (which is automatic) gives an anti-aliasing effect, giving you a smoother video quality.

Try both, and see which one works better for ya.

Depends on the size of your TV, over 50" go with 1080P, less than 50" 720p.
