Yeah this is pretty ****ing lame... My computer is only like 7 months old the only old part in this machine is the processor. I've spent over $1000 this year upgrading it and now its only worth the cost of a video card??? lol this will be the last desktop i'll buy.DarkMasterX13
 You did poor shopping man. Even early this year, it shouldn't have cost you that much just for an upgrade. Early this year, you could have built a new C2D rig for that much that would have been much better. That is why a lot of people don't do PC gaming - it is easy to get ripped off on computer parts. My grandpa is constantly spending way to much on parts. He bought a $115 CPU for $215 at a local store!
That PC is well worth $1000. It just depends where you sell it. In a store, you can look at $2000 for a "gaming" rig with an "awesome" 7600GS and a 1.8GHz C2D. It may not seem like much to the people on this forum, but you could make out like a bandit and still give some poor person an awesome deal. People on this forum probably wouldn't spend $300 on it. It is all about where you sell it!

You make me not want to become a PC gamer. :? I think I'll just play it safe and get a laptop and 360 for $900. That should last me for 5-6 years without upgrading.
With the exception of poorly optimized games, a computer will be able to last as long as its competing consoles because the consoles will bottleneck the games' requirements. A computer should last an easy 4yr with a graphic card upgrade in there.
EDIT: That is including games that come out after the 360 is outdated - it might not play them higher than med, but it could play them. If a 360 can hold you for that lon, a PC could hold you for like 7yrs.
