    Look at the textures, and in the last picture look at the blocky shadow, it's nothing impressive yet, and it definately doesn't look better then halo yet, and it certaintly can't be compared to Gears of war's its graphics yet. Sure we get a dark fast paced action trailer and we all go nuts, but when you freeze the moment in that very trailer, tata the pure graphics will unveil. But the game is still being tweaked on so..

    Thats all i gotta say.

    i agree with you that the textures in some places r horrible but look at this pic (the textures on that wall r amazingly detailed; plus the textures in the game will eventually get polished up, its still in it pre-pre alpha stage.):

    I realize that it's in pre-pre alpha, but we're having a discussion about which version looks better at this moment.
    And i can't honestly say that i'am impressed with these Killzone pictures that are made from the trailer..
    ( I ain't impressed with Halo either ).

    If Killzone can put those textures together that actually look sharp and detailed, then i can accept the hype.

    I am a PC gamer at heart... but i luv both Killzone and Halo...

    which of the two new itterations is better??

    Halo3

    my reasons:

    Halo3 looks comparativly better, the specular effects and textures and lighting all look better then those shown in killzon2. Frankly Killzone 2 was a letdown. Pre-Alpha build or not, it still looks like crap. the maps though large are pretty, they look grey and grim... i am not being stupid here, they should be atmospheric and a war torn city would be very foggy and stuff but the whole thing just lacks crisp. the modles are also crap they are no different from doom3 modles or dare i say HL2 modles. and the animation sets for the caracters are nothing out of the ordinary. its easy to get animation sets for human opponants such as the baddies in KZ2 but for aliens that do not exist its a bit harder, and the talk about the game being a better FPS expierience doesnt look that sharp either. I think a better comparison to Halo3 would be the awsome CoD 4. that game truely is what FPS is all about.

    yes the textures on the killzone 2 image are indeed crap... nothing out of the ordinary... wall textures have been done better in F.E.A.R. if you want true texture detail knock on CryTecks doors and look at Crysis. thats inovation in gaming graphics not this.

    Killzone 2 definately looks alot better than Halo 3 at this point. I am really exicted about it, it really looks cool and my bet is it will be so much more original than Halo 3. The thing with Halo is that it has more backound, and it had more momentum going for it than Killzone has now. In my opinion though, I think Killzone will win out because it just has a better look to it.

    Killzone 2 definately looks alot better than Halo 3 at this point. I am really exicted about it, it really looks cool and my bet is it will be so much more original than Halo 3. The thing with Halo is that it has more backound, and it had more momentum going for it than Killzone has now. In my opinion though, I think Killzone will win out because it just has a better look to it.

    You haven't even played Killzone nor Halo 3 so ur argument is invalid. And besides the only people that actually say Killzone is better most of the time are Ps3 fanboys themselves. Just like 360 fanboys praise Halo over Killzone, its obvious.

    I think it's why many like it... in fact many people complained that Halo 2 was straying to far away from the Halo look.
    If I want dark and gritty there's tons of options... I love the bright color rich world of halo.

    KillZone for me. In the first one it had me with how real the gameplay was and the war that you are in. now i want to play more of the story and see what happens to the ISA....

    For me its halo3, but just because I've played the other two games and am looking forward to how the story ends, also because the other two games held up so well in the areas of game-play and graphical style.

    I saw the trailer for killzone2 and was amazed by the sharp looking graphics and the sense of chaos, i think it could give halo a run for its money.

    but i am still a loyal fan of the halo Francise and,will be playing it for a long time,before looking for something else to fill the first person shooter void.

I'm a Halo fan all the way but everything Microsoft has shown about Halo 3 so far (including the beta) has just disapointed me... I was so looking foreward to a new and improved Halo too. But Killzone 2 just blew me away!

    KILLZONE 2 BY FARRR! Everything about Killzone 2 looks by far more impressive than Halo 3. I'm a Halo fan all the way but everything Microsoft has shown about Halo 3 so far (including the beta) has just disapointed me... I was so looking foreward to a new and improved Halo too. But Killzone 2 just blew me away!

    I think the hype surrounding Halo 3 and the reputation it has as one of the greatestfranchises ever made will be enough to overcome Killzone 2.

    Halo is great but killzone 2 is in a completely different league, and you can expect it to set a new standard in the fps genre from what I read about it.

    here's something about the enemy AI

    So I'm assuming the game will be incredible and will have more than good graphics.
