Can the DS play music?

I remember reading somehwere that the DS had the ability to play MP3s. I just got a DS lite yesterday and I don't know if that's true or not.

this is true and you can get the mp3 convertor at argos and game in the uk for about £50 or less
you just need a pc and because the pack comes with everything like usb lead, software and 1gb memory
and go to a website that lets you download albums or get the tunes of a cd album you own and thats it

There is also the Play-Yan Micro which is also released by Nintendo, but only in Japan. It also play MP4 video. And there are unofficial ways to play MP3, but that is not allowed to discuss here.
