what exactly is going to be released on HD-DVD?

if games, then all I can say is that MS are true geniuses: they sell the console at $400 a year beforehand and then sell the HD-DVD at $200, making it seem cheaper, but in total, it is $600, the cost of the PS3....they are pretty smart. But until games aren't released on HD-DVD, there is no sense really in getting it, I guess.

If you have ever seen a HD-DVD movie in progress, it is really amazing. I think t has better visual playback than Blueray, darker blacks, brighter whites... ahhhhh.

I would like some HD-DVD games, but they would have to be backwards compatable with the X360 DVD9 drive to make sense.

^^ is the link you can go to to get a free Wii or DS by signing up to gamefly, its pretty cool and several people have been asking about it so I thought I would post it for anyone that might be interested.

The best part is, its purely optional.  You're not forced to buy it, it pleases me.  A cheap HD-DVD player if i want it, I dont have to spend tons on a destined to fail Blu-Ray player.  Thats just my opinion

It has nothing to do with me preferring Microsoft games over Sony.  At this point im so angry with M$ i've had to contact the BBB to try and resolve a problem, im far from a fanboy.  I decided this by looking at facts, consumers are comforatable with the familiar sound of "HD" and "DVD".  When you say "Blu-ray" to most people over 30, or anyone not into keeping up with new technology they will not have any clue what you're talking about.  People do not want to learn about a new way to watch movies, most older crowds are finally getting used to DVDs and HD.  HD-DVD is already cheaper, more movies are available, the familiar name will help it tremendously.  We'll see who comes out on top in the end, but I really believe they'll either come to an agreement and merge, or HD-DVD will prevail as the new standard.  Just look at the past.

that may not be a scientific study, but It does have some truth to it.
