Can anybody think of any games better than God of War? I personally can't, but my 2nd favorite game is Smackdown! vs. RAW 2006. What are your 1st and 2nd favorites?

I guess my favorite games are the Tenchu Series. Definetly put A LOT of hours into them. hmmm, I've never put my favorite games in any numerical order. God of War ties with Prince of Persia: TTT for second, but they are kinda similar.
i have alot of favorite games but ill list the top five games i play the most in no particular order 1. Ninja Gaiden Black 2.God of War 3.Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 4.Legend of Zelda WindWaker 5.Madden 06 ((soon to be 07))
I don't think God of War is the best game ever. I think it suffered from "Medal of Honor Syndrome"; an awesome first level, followed by ones that couldn't exactly match it. Still, at least it had a lot of extras, which is more than can be said for a lot of games these days. I think my favourite game is Resident Evil 4. I played that for weeks on end for no other reason than I just wanted to play it. The only other games I've done that with, to a lesser extent, were Max Payne 2 (on the PC; am I right in thinking console versions weren't as good?) and Onimusha 3 (where the gameplay never got dull, unlike on the other games).

I must disagree. God of War was awesome all the way around. Although I wouldn't call this the greatest game ever either because i believe that there isnt one "greatest" game. There are many greats. For me God of War ranks among the greatest.

And, from the looks of MGS4, Raiden is going to screw up the game EVEN MORE. I didn't think that was possible before I saw the MGS4 trailer. Everything else in it was amazing, but ninjas suck . . .

Yeah, the same as me. I wasn't in to gaming that much when the first MGS came out, and I couldn't understand what was going on in the game too well.
I like how they put all the work in this game, and i am glad that the game lived up to the hype, i really cant stand games that they hype people on and it becomes a disappointment, this game lived up to the hype.
GoW is probably in the top 10 or 20 for me, this is just because a lot of games from my childhood deserve higher places, simply for a nostalgic effect. Not sure what my favourite game ever is... probably the first Age of Empires, heh.

God of war is great game but one has to remember genre, therefore it cannot truly be compared to games of say another genre. And thats what the crtics will say, but i think that if compared on an emotional sort of level then yes indeed it may very well be one of the best games ever, all depends on how you want to look at it.
First Beyond Good & Evil, Then Knights of The Old Republic, THEN God of War. But seriously, God of War is a Kickass Game, and as long as they do not totally mess up the sequel, then I'm a happy guy
i think GOW is the BEST action game no doubt!!! best adventure game? GOW II would be better best PS2 game? well it didn't score a 10/10 in GS while others did

well i didn't say GOW isn't my top fav, i was simply talking facts, but yeah i do have another better game: Kingdom hearts II..that's my No. one game, after that comes GOW.....anyways, GOW II will own both of 'em!!! :twisted:
