> Rich and poor
I was going for the fire and ice metaphor, but the beauty of metaphor is that the meaning comes from within the reader.

> Just don't talk about my region unless you're sure of what you're saying.
I wasn't talking about your region, I was referencing your region by a tenuous link to a song in a children's movie. I also referenced my region, which wasn't "talking about" it either.
Â
> I understand you, you understand me, so what's the problem?
The fact that we obviously don't understand each other. You understand the words, but the words aren't what I meant. The images conjured up by the words and their association with popular culture are what were being referenced.
Â
And even calling Aladdin "before your time" wasn't much of an insult, as it was probably out for the better part of a decade before you were old enough to start remembering things and I have no clue if Disney is as big for kids on other continents as it is here.
Â
Edit: And perhaps the best evidence that I meant no offense is that I'm explaining myself. If offense was my intent, I'd have just rolled with it and trolled you harder.
Deeb: >song
You've never seen the cartoon movie?
>sensitivity about region
I can't identify with this. Â It's the same for my ethnic background, faith, etc.
Wulf: >within the reader
Ain't that some sweet s***? Â You trying to get me to tear up over here?
>link 2
What appropriate top comments.
>Disney outside the US
Can't really say. Â I never understood the appeal of Mickey Mouse (on that note). Â Looney Tunes and the like are clearly more entertaining.
>rolled with it
As is tempting. Â I relented out of respect for Lord despite his silly behavior getting himself caught by 'kratos'. Â I did all I could for him. Â He's dialed back his temper a bit with the years. Â I've spent much time explaining how letting one's weakpoints shine through obviously and playing upon emotion to extremes doesn't help here. Â Especially not against proper trolls who will continue to exploit the weakness.Â
>can't remember the plot
Poor guy with a heart of gold (and a monkey). Â Princess who wants to marry for love and see more of the world than palace walls (with her tiger). Â Jerkass advisor to the sultan wants to rule (will use the princess). Â Jerkass knows of a lamp, but needs a certain street rat thief to get it for him. Â He sets him up, but the boy gets the Genie. Â Tries to impress the girl (succeeds when more honest). Â Jerkass tries to kill everyone and fails hilariously. Â Genie gets freed and leaves. Â Poor guy gets with the rich girl. Â Forbidden love across classes ensues. Â The tiger mauls him. Â The end.
>ignorance and racism
You would be half right:Â http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbud8rLejLM
>offending
Didn't know you could be offended that way.
>shouldn't toy
Toying is half the fun. Â It's part of the culture of TUGOWU.Â
>strange things
The tip of the iceburg, one could say.
>what you meant
Just so. Â But it is exactly as I'd noted when you first came here. Â This community is like 'this'. Â It's our nature. Â You know of the tale of the scorpion and the mouse/tortoise/frog, yes? Â Thus all our ealry talk of thick skin, a taste for giving as good as getting, not getting cross, etc.
