I prefer studio. I hear that version first and then when I listen to it live its like "Noooo you didn't sing it the same!!!!"

But I like when bands do good covers of others songs on radio. I quite like Radio1's live lounge :)

All depends on the artist. I love both, but some artists unfortunately require some studio work for the... I guess image of their song to come together.

One artist in particular though that I think is fantastic live is Lady Gaga. I like her studio work, but the live and acoustic versions of some of her songs are what really pushed her onto my favorites list.

Live theres no questions theres just a certain thing that you dont get on a Cd and thats just the sheer atmosphere especially at a good gig NFG instantly springs to my mind they just rock live on so many levels its scary.

Also @Audio if you like the cancer bats get your ass into gear for November cause theey are playing in Drummonds in Aberdeen :D gonna be awesome i'll be down the front going psychotic with Liam and co xD.

This.  Love hearing a band I love live, but kinda sux when they don't live up to their albums:(  But that's why I love Deftones, most of their lives are even better than their albums:o

Personally I also find acts I like both in the studio and live, particularly people like Deadmau5 and Daft Punk since they mix for live performances and it gives the studio a new twist :D

i much more fond of live music, i've been to a festival the past three days and every single band has proven me that their music is of much greater quality live, namely skunk anansie, faith no more, gogol bordello, gossip, and pearl jam.

I do agree that some music is probably MUCH more enjoyable live. Can't say much on the subect since i've only ever been to one proper gig.

But I loved the atmosphere, the noise, the support the crowd gave to the bands and their reactions. It was awesome. One of the very few days where I just let myself have proper no worries FUN!!

So id say they are pretty important factors in live music. Otherwise, its studio for me again :P

Most times you get the first impression on studio and then you go check it live, i must say that i prefer live though, can be lot more intense if the soundcheck isnt ruined for some reason!

Coldplay is generally pretty good live , you really get the feeling behind the song.
