StarGate Universe Episode Discussion "The Greater Good"
WARNING SPOILERS !!!
Wow, just, wow. Great episode, although I am going to miss Rush doing his little Machivellian thing. Also, too bad the LA didn't bring aboard any of those torture sticks, hope Young puts the screws to that one guy.theone86Rush will always be out for #1, this was just a setback.
And we finally get to see Robert Knepper acting his best role. Â Even if it means doing something with what's-her-name?Â
Its good to find out what Destiny's purpose is although it does sound pretty crazy.mjk1That's the thing, if this were real Stargate it wouldn't be that crazy. Â This BSG point of view is messing with our perception of the Stargate universe!
Â
I really didn't think they were going ti kill off Ginn so quick, and from the look of Rush in the perviews I guess it killed his crippled friend too.shockwave04
...kill of Ginn?? 'SPOLIERS' !!! didn't know thatÂ

My problem with this story line is, because it potentially so huge I think we will only reach the final destination of Desinty's mission when it is the series finale much like BSG. Â Â

Ginn looked pretty dead, but I still wonder if they didn't mean to imply that she was dead. Rush did call for help, after all, though that could be simply because he was in a distressed state.
Also, I think they established in SG-1 that killing one person hooked up to the stones kills the other person as well, but given the patterns of cannon so far and some indications within the episode (Eli talking to the doctor about being in someone else's body), I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to go with a Ginn's still alive, but she's in a crippled lady's body and can only talk to Eli using the stones thing, which would also be kinda strange considering Eli is also having problems only being able to talk to his mom using the stones.
Lastly, I want to know how Simeon was able to get away from his guard, the way Grier has been on him you would think whoever's guarding him would never let him out of their sight.
As some one who's only seen the original BSG I have no idea what you people are talking about, I thought they were just looking for earth. Still, I never liked the idea of god in Stargate, they explain away polytheism and monotheism basically evolved out of that. It even fits in with the theme of SG, Earth's population triumphed over gods who abused their authority, so it would be only natural that they would still hold to superstition and think it was because of a more benevolent, less visible god. I'm hopeful that it's not going to be THAT hackneyed, though. A being that precedes the big bang, fine, that's sci-fi enough for me (Galactus, anyone?) As long as it doesn't turn out to be a creator entity I'll be fine with it.
Also, don't make me have to start going all General Disarray on you guys, Simpsons did i...I mean Battlestar Galactica did it!!!

Yeah, I'm upset about that. I was like "Wow! They let the nerdy kid get some action, maybe his life won't be so typical and depressing"... but right after I thought that I was like "man they have to kill her really soon... it's the nature of the show".
With all this sadness they need little hints of happiness, and I just don't see that happening in a realistic way after this episode. Honestly, this stuff normally doesn't bother me a whole lot, but in this case it did... it just felt really cheap. For a second I thought she was going to make it, but then when I saw the ending, I just rolled my eyes. Seriously, kill that Chloe chick instead!
Note: I haven't watched the most recent episode, so I don't know 100% if she's dead, but I'm assuming she is from what I've seen on the trailer.
Well the Ancients are i guess millions of years old but maybe there was a race that was millions of years ahead of them back then and looked like god or maybe its a portal to another dimension or universe or something. I also dont know how Knepper got away from his escort or really even why he would be one of the last of the enemy on board when all he seems to do is cause trouble.KurushioYeah, I thought that was a bit far-fetched. I don't know why they even let him roam the ship, if he's so hostile.
