LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Kentucky quarterback Curtis Pulley's recent legal troubles mean sophomore Mike Hartline will begin preseason camp as the Wildcats' starting quarterback.

Kentucky coach Rich Brooks announced Thursday that Pulley, who was even with Hartline after spring practice in their competition to replace the departed Andre Woodson, has been demoted to No. 2.

Pulley was arrested on several traffic charges in Hardin County on July 22. He pleaded guilty to speeding in Hardin County District Court on Wednesday. A charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license was dismissed.

Pulley also received a citation for marijuana possession in Louisville in June.

Brooks said Pulley could miss some playing time, but did not rule out that Pulley could eventually become the starter.

Brooks also said Thursday he will discipline quarterback Will Fidler internally following Fidler's arrest on disorderly conduct charges outside a Lexington restaurant last week.

Curtis Pulley will still be the starter...

Rich Brooks, UKs head coach, has already said that this still doesnt make Hartline the starter. It just puts Pulley a little bit behind, the better player will start.

He said that while pulley could still start he will still be punished by either, missing a couple game, a game, or a part of a game. Sounds like Rich Brooks is REALLY trying to teach that guy a lesson.

But either way Pulley is the better player and will start.
