as much as i hate to admit it (mostly because he basically single-handedly dropped 70 points on CU), vince young was a much better college player than reggie bush. take him off of that texas team and they wouldn't have been nearly as good. take reggie bush off of USC, and they still would have made it to the rose bowl.

I did. I mean, he didn't even capitilize anything either. How sad. (Yes, I'm pretty big on capitilization, so you'll have to deal with it.)

Well duh Vince is gonna have more TDs then Reggie, I mean he plays QB and he runs it alot also.

They are both terrific players and have great NFL careers ahead of them... although I do think Bush will end up the better player.

And didn't deserve that heisman. That's Vince's trophy no matter what anyone says. Without Vince UT is 9-3. Without Bush usc would have probably still gone undefeated through the regular season. Vince is far and away a better player at both levels as of right now.

i dont think you can compare a QB's importance to a team to a RB. pre-rose bowl reggie was the heisman, post-rose bowl it was vince young, but its a regular season award and its not the most important player, its the most outstanding player and in the regular season that was bush.

Well not really, Reggie was the best college football player that year. Thats why he did win it, he was the BEST college player that year.

The award goes to the most outstanding player in the nation, and well Reggie was the guy.

I thought he was defending saying that he was right about Vince should of won the heisman. Then defending what he said with why he said it, about Vince being more important to his team.

And if he was just stating who was more important to whos team then what does it matter who won the NC? The better team wins, not the team with the player who is more important to their team.

Not necessarily. The better team doesn't always win. If a team can get hot then they will play better and out preform the other team. To be honest i think the USC team was better on paper then the Texas team, but Texas had Vince Young and he was the X-factor in the game.

Oh really the best player eh? Hmm someone screwed up last year by giving it to Troy Smith not Calvin Johnson...or that time that Jason White, Eric Crouch, Danny Wuerfell...etc. All won it.

troy smith was the best player in the college level...... CJ is just the best overall player to come out of the draft.....

the Best COLLEGE player, not the best player..... troy smith was a beast last year, complemented by 2 stud WRs, a great RB and a great Def..... which i got to watch tear my hawks apart on National television for a night game.....

he earned that award. if CJ was so great in college, then why didnt he single handedly carry his team on his back to a new years day bowl? oh because he couldnt.....

prolly bc his QB sucked and couldn't give him the ball enough. and i agree that VY shoulda won the Heisman bc he had more impact on the games he played in and imo is the overall better player. maybe not most athletic but better. and VY a bust? lol he has done great in the NFL i don't know what games you were watchin. also Troy Smith was overrated. the only"title" caliber team he played last year was Florida and he got owned.

Nicely put my man, and rofl at newb saying CJ couldn't carry his team on his back.. well no crap dude he's a frickin wide out, that doesn't mean he's not the best player at his position in college dude. Have you ever heard of a wideout carrying a team on his back? NO! Because someone has to throw the ball to him. QB is more valuable to a team then a wideout. The Patriots are proof of this, their wideouts last year were trash, but they had Tom Brady who almost got them to another Super Bowl with a bunch of no names catching the ball.

Heisman Trophy:

Reggie Bush: 1 Vince Young: 0

I mean i hate the man, but he is pretty good.

Espurs117

And didn't deserve that heisman. That's Vince's trophy no matter what anyone says. Without Vince UT is 9-3. Without Bush usc would have probably still gone undefeated through the regular season. Vince is far and away a better player at both levels as of right now.

Lol put down the crack pipe; he shouldve gotten the one the year before too.

Um, he's right dude. Young was more important to the Longhorns then Bush was to the Trojans. Also, who won the Rose Bowl, Reggie's team or Vince's team?

Well not really, Reggie was the best college football player that year. Thats why he did win it, he was the BEST college player that year.

The award goes to the most outstanding player in the nation, and well Reggie was the guy.

He was stating that Vince was more valuable to Texas than Reggie was to USC.

its not an mvp award; its to the best player.; thus everyone knows that bush is better

Oh really the best player eh? Hmm someone screwed up last year by giving it to Troy Smith not Calvin Johnson...or that time that Jason White, Eric Crouch, Danny Wuerfell...etc. All won it.

in 1996 who was better than danny wuerfell?

I thought he was defending saying that he was right about Vince should of won the heisman. Then defending what he said with why he said it, about Vince being more important to his team.

And if he was just stating who was more important to whos team then what does it matter who won the NC? The better team wins, not the team with the player who is more important to their team.

I was and I am right. Did RB win the NC for his team, or did he single handedly get the trojans through multiple games? Young was a better collegiate player and is going to be a better pro barring bad injury for either of them.

Roy Williams from Oklahoma was twice the football player Croch was/is. In college he was head and shoulders better and, well Croch is missing from the pro ranks because he is no good.

troy smith was the best player in the college level...... CJ is just the best overall player to come out of the draft.....

the Best COLLEGE player, not the best player..... troy smith was a beast last year, complemented by 2 stud WRs, a great RB and a great Def..... which i got to watch tear my hawks apart on National television for a night game.....

he earned that award. if CJ was so great in college, then why didnt he single handedly carry his team on his back to a new years day bowl? oh because he couldnt.....

lol... dont be a hater kuz you konw VY's going to bust.

lmao@Smith being the best player last year. Smith wasn't even the best QB last year. Had Colt Brennan been at a bigger school he'd have won the thing. CJ was the better college player, better NFL prospect and is probably a better dancer as well;).

CJ reminds me a lot of Jerry Rice, so he probably is gonna be on dancing with the stars in the future.

Had Colt Brennan played at a different school he more then likely wouldnt of put up the kind of numbers he put up. He is a great QB but his stats are a bit inflated due to playing for Hawaii under the system they run and against the defenses they play against.

The one thing that made CJ stand out as a draft prospect. Was who all he is compared to. They've said he's like Jerry Rice in his work ethic and attitude. And that he has the athletic ability of a Randy Moss or a Terrell Owens. Now, that's one hell of a potential player if that all turns out to be true.

I somehow think that he won't be all he's cracked up to be, though. I don't know why, but I'm just getting that funny feeling. I do hope it's not true, though.
