Many people here think that the ACC is the worst conference this season, or close to it. But let's take a look...

The ACC has 10 teams going to a bowl game, which is an NCAA record.

The ACC's out of conference schedule against BCS opponents is 13-8 this season. Let's compare:

Big East: 7-7

Big Ten: 5-5

Pac 10: 5-6

Big 12: 7-8

SEC: 6-9

Half of the BCS computers, which includes the Massey Ratings, Anderson & Hester, and Sagarin Index, put the ACC as the #1 conference.

Is the ACC still the worst conference?

No offense, Shu, but the ACC isn't anything spectacular. Yes, it might not be the worst conference. And sure, they have the most teams going to a bowl game. However, only Va. Tech made it into the BCS. :|

While I don't think the ACC is the best conference like half of the BCS computers do, I think we deserve some credit. This entire season people have disregarded the ACC, while I think it's a good conference at the least.

Good conference? Yes (there are worse *cough* PAC-10, WAC *cough*). Deserving of an auto-BCS bid this year? No. It was a good conference in the fact that you didn't know who was going to win in any of the games. I am sure most conferences didn't have that. As for having 10 teams going bowling, the market is flooded with bowls. Heck, the WAC has 5 (6 were eligible) teams going bowling. As for overrated conferences, I could name a couple.

Well, to be fair, there is a big difference between good/bad, and overrated.

How is the ACC not the worst conferance. They beat a bunch of bad teams from BCS conferances. The ACC doesn't have one team that deserves to be in a BCS bowl.

It's not the worst. It's better than the Pac-10 and the Big East. Happy now?

I disagree. The Pac-10 at least had a 1 decent team and the Big East is closer but the way Rutgers ended the year moves them way up in my book.
