We'll know by Monday/Tuesday about Bowden's future at FSU. Most of the FSU fans I know are pretty much ready for change anytime now.

You can add Notre Dame to that list. Weis is done.

College football is losing something with Bowden leaving, but it was time for him to leave. I put Jimbo Fisher in there assuming nothing changes there.

I know that this is for head coaches, but Georgia had some firings today as well.

OUT- Willie Martinez, Jon Fabris, and John Jancek.

IN? Hopefully this will lead to Kirby Smart's return to Athens.

It's being reported that Mark Mangino resigned, not that he was fired. It could've bee one of those "resign or we fire you publicly" deals. But I really don't see why they would feel it necessary to do so.

There will be some in Auburn too if Smart leaves Bama. Or maybe not if Tuberville comes. He and Richt are pretty close.

The recent allegations about how he emotionally abused his team caught me off guard. It wasn't too long ago that he won Coach of the Year for bring Kansas back into the national spotlight.

Rich Brooks has retired from Ketucky which means Joker Phillips should be taking over.

Jim Leavitt was also fired from South Florida.

I can't believe they did that. Talk about a coach that is completely incompatible with the type of offense Tech currently runs.

So, what do the Florida fans thinks of George Edwards as their new DC? That hiring went by quietly.

Georgia's on the verge of hiring Alabama DC Kirby Smart for around $750,000 a year. I hope this one actually goes through. edit: it didn't. Also interesting to see GT close to hiring Al Groh for their DC position.

There is no reason why Ruffin Mcneil should not have got the the job at Texas Tech. I feel like that the Higher ups at Texas Tech did not want to give him a fair shot at getting the job, because of his friendship and connection with Mike Leach. There is no reason why Ruffin Mcneil would not have got hired, if he was not connected to Mike Leach

I hate to even use the word class to refering to somebody in any context, but Ruffin Mcneil knows this is why he did not get the job; He just has too much class to say it

Does anybody else think that they did not give him a fair chance to get the job, because of his connections with Mike Leach?

Per ESPN, Kiffin to USC.

Lol Tennessee and lol USC.

EDIT: Oh, and Dan Enos (RB coach at Michigan State) has taken the job at CMU. Not sure if I like that hire.

Kiffin to Tennessee is just freakin classic. Vols fans think this means the return of Fulmer. I want to see UT lose some out-of-state recruits now. They're ****ed.

Lane Kiffin to USC. All of my sister in-law's family (and the city she lives in) is going nuts. It's so funny to watch. I am trying not to be harsh to them, because I have felt the same way (I am looking at you Mr. Nutt).

Go look at the Tennessee forums on Scout. They want him dead. And actually, the few UT people I know really liked the guy.

And Lame apparently just made his final statements from UT. He said a few sentences, never sat down, and just left. I bet he's already boarding a plane to get the **** out of there.

David Cutcliffe has withdrawn his name from the UT opening. That leaves Derek Dooley. Oh.. ma... gawd. :|

On a slightly happier note for me, Georgia hires Dallas DL coach Todd Grantham as DC. Good hire, even though that will switch the defense to a 3-4. GT gets Al Groh.

edit: It's official. Derek Dooley is Tennessee's new coach. No...

Well, barring anything major, it looks like the coaching carousel has come to a halt. For now, at least.
