Hello people! Do you see how off topic we get? This thread is about the Misery Mire Ghost, not about how ALttP is awesome (it truly is) or how MC is better than ALttP (which IMO, isn't true, it's about the Misery Mire Ghost. Back on topic!
I really had no trouble encountering the MMG, and I found it far faster than I had expected. They probably meant to keep it in the GBA version, because they knew about it, however, they though it was something for players to explore.
It's a very interesting glitch in the swamp of Misery Mire (the "6th" dungeon in ALttP). The most common method of finding him is this:
From the Desert of Mystery, warp to the Dark World. Jump down the ledge, then go a little Northeast. Use bombos, and every enemy will die except one. That one enemy is invisible, but it caught on fire because of bombos. Some say it was dificult to find, but I thought it was quite easy (on my first try). Just read the FAQ I put above.

Is it really THAT hard to move and use bombos. I didn't use the FAQ on my first try, but I was interested and studied.

I can personally back you up on this and say that it really isn't as hard as it is monotonous. Other than the somewhat simple process which you have to go through in order to actually find the "enemy", there is nothing else to it.

No, he's a glitch. :p
All you have to do is simply use the Bombos Medallion and watch the screen to see the flames that are basically surrounding nothing. And it does, in fact, drop some weapons... which are bombs.
