Yeah, most of the school shootings that have taken place in the US have been high schools and college campuses, but to involve such young children is the most shocking thing I've heard in a while. The gunner was only 20 years old as well and was targeting his mother; I hope his soul never finds peace so that it can wonder the Earth forever alone.
I'm also hoping that investigations don't start blaming video games on the massacre, nothing on the market can teach or encourage this type of behavior.
Yeah cause so many games inspire elementary school shootings. To be serious though, I've never seen a situation where vgs inspired this kind of depravity. That shooter from the VA Tech tragedy sure as hell didn't need vgs to shoot up that schoolYeah, most of the school shootings that have taken place in the US have been high schools and college campuses, but to involve such young children is the most shocking thing I've heard in a while. The point is, the criminals will use video games as a scapegoat, not as a legitimate source of information; it's like when people claim "insanity" during a murder trial. Clearly, there are other sources of media than can have an influence, but gaming is the easiest to scare the crap out of parents on why they shouldn't own a console.
I think we can all remember a few years back when Florida lawyer Jack Thompson was always on a rampage to end the game industry because he defended clients' behaviors that claimed violent games drove them to commit a crime.
Jack Thompson is the biggest example of humans being dumber than monkeys. What people fail to take into account is the fact that what kids don't have access to, parents do. How is it the vg industries fault that they buy games for their kids with an M-rating? The ESRB rating is there to warn them away and they continue to buy it because that thing in their head doesn't work. And they get so upset when they the game their kids play when its THEM who bought it in the first place. Contrary to popular belief, there is a thing called bad parenting. I think those parenting classes should include a "Guide to the ESRB rating" to prevent this kind of thing. Maybe then they'll learn about that pretty black "M" on the box isn't just there for decoration. The point is, the criminals will use video games as a scapegoat, not as a legitimate source of information; it's like when people claim "insanity" during a murder trial. Isn't it user created though, which is why it's free to obtain?
To many capcom crossovers though imoNew position going pretty well. Orientation is super easy since it's designed for people new to the company, whereas I know most everything being taught being an internal recruit. The scariest part thus far is the overwhelming amount of trainings I need to attend, followed by the fact that they span over the course of the month in no pattern whatsoever. It just seems so confusing on where I should be and who I should be with at any given point.
