How Would You Rate Yourself ?

Obviously we are all more into gaming than the average person or we wouldn't be on Gamespot let alone part of a union. How far into gaming would you say you are ? Do you know specific gaming developers, or publishers. Can you name any game engines ? Can you name any individual people who work in gaming ? How much of gaming history do you know ? Do you write reviews for games ? 

 It's not a competition just my own curiosity. 

I can speak about several prominent gaming figures such as John Carmack, John Romero, Tim Schaefer, Lord British, and Bobby Kotick. I can name several developers and publishers, as well as understand the relationship between the two. I can name several game engines. I used to write reviews back before I worked full time, even got an offer by a startup company many years ago to write previews but I turned them down because they couldn't pay much. I always regretted that. 

10/ 10 would play again.

For real though, I'd say I'm pretty solid. I game regualrly, try to give everything a chance and frequently write reviews when I beat a game. If I'm unsure about a game, I'll do extensive research, read both positive and negative reviews, etc.  I also try to give my gaming life variety by sometimes trying a game that I'm unsure about. Usually it pays off. 

I would say I'm a 9/10 because there are a lot of questions I couldn't answer about certain genres and platforms. I am solid on pretty much anything PC though while knowing a lot of things about multiplatform stuff.PublicNuisance

This union  is one of the only console centric place I have felt at home in. Usually it  becomes PC vs consoles elsewhere but haven't felt that here.

I think PC wins by default :P

I just find consoles a lot more comfortable.

If I had the money I would have a PS3, a Wii, Wii U, a DS, and a Vita to go with my PC. As it is I can't do that and PC suits my needs better than any other. To each their own though. 

I think the wii u is backwards compatible, so there isn't really a need to have both a wii and a wii U.

Does the Wii U play Gamecube games ? If not that could be a reason although I can pckc up a Gamecube for about $30.

I can pick up a PS2 slim for $40 used and a Gamecube used for $30 at a pawn shop near my apartment. 

I'd give myself a 8/10. I'm really stupid with computers and online play, but I know most of the publishers, developers, keep up with the latest gaming news, and have heard about nearly every game ever released.(I'm still missing a few hundred)

I used to love writing reviews, the only reason I don't write them much anymore is because people stopped reading them.:P

i have never gotten the thing there. I am a console guy, i have played games on pc though like mmo's. for me it's a simple solution. Don't say one is better than the other. Just enjoy your platform of choice

Guys saying the graphics are so much better on consoles should just shut up. not everyone can afford a mega pc that can have the best graphics to run Crysis 3. Consoles guys should also stfu about their fanboyism and saying they have the best games. PC has a million more games than consoles. Some are also way easier to control on pc aswell. I mean can you imagine to play Total War on PS4? No!
