Season 3 could be the end of Friendship is Magic

According to the Top Draw Animations website the third season is currently only scheduled for 13 episodes. Where as the second was announced to have 24 episodes from the get go. (The Return of Harmony Episodes were originally meant to be the Season 1 finale). Currently FiM has run a total of 52 episodes, with the 13 in Season 3, the total will be at 65, which is traditionally the limit for Western cartoon series. Including some of the older My Little Pony generations.

So it would appear the show is nearing its end. :(

But I haven't had enough Rarity. :(

I'd like 4 seasons so the show can hit a little over 100 episodes. That'd be pretty cool. But right now, I'd just take a full 26 episodes for season 3.

I wouldnt mind if it stopped after a 3rd Season. It will just get tired and drawn out otherwise.

Six seasons and a movie. 

I dunno. I have trouble believing that S3 will only be 13 episodes long (both because I'd like to see more and I can't really see it happening). I've seen a lot of different things said from various different places, and plenty seem to think it far-fetched that the show will just simply end with these next 13 episodes. I'd like to think they're right :P

I doubt it....I mean, I really do. Sure it's a good thing to go out on a high note (even though it would be TOO soon) but...I mean this is probably Hasbro's biggest and most popular show on at the moment. Maybe not of all time but damn is it's popularity big and cutting the show off too soon would be a really dumb move given the popularity and just how big the show has gotten. Think of all the buisness opertunities!

I do realize though that this could lead to a decrease in quality from Studio B perhaps but as SDCC 2012 has shown it seems to be getting better in quality; better animation, better song numbers, better music, and since Cadence will be coming back perhaps we may get some better character development. I say, let the fans decide on when to end the show and I mean the REAL fans. Fans that don't just slober and drool over every single episode and say there are no faults (as great as it is there are still faults guys, come on). I mean fans like Paleo who break down episodes and determine why they liked it looking at the story give, the character interactions, the jokes, everything and offer their opinion on the episode.

Those are the real fans who should say when the show should end because they know wha's up, they know the good and the bad of the show, and if anyone can catch a decrease in quality it would probably be them. Still, that's just me and I doubt that they would listen to the fans on such matters as the response would be universally, "NO!" End the series, DON'T end the series, either way it is (for now) still here and we should enjoy the time we have with it and when it ends just smile and be happy that it happened.

In an interview, Megan McCarthy confirmed Season 3 will only be 13 episodes, but she also said they'd hired a couple more writers. There's no way they would still be writing episodes for season 3 this late, especially with only 13 episodes. So I guess that confirms there will at least be a 4th, I wonder if 13 per season will become the norm.meetroid8

I'm just happy to know there will be a 4th. But at this rate, the 3rd will end around December. If the the next doesn't start until next fall, we could be waiting 8 months for new episodes.:|

Or maybe they'll be like "Yeah, season 3 will have 13 episodes in the fall season... but season 3 part 2 will have another 13 and will air in Spring 2013 trollololol!" :o

EDIT: Oh, I read your previous post totally wrong BTW. I thought you meant they'd hired a couple more writers for season 3, not a couple more recently.
