Hero is one of my favorite movies, but I can ony watch it in Manderan with English subtitles, because the corny English voice-over interjects enough humor into the movie to clash with the rest of the mood its supposed to be conveying at any particular instance.

Hero was teh leet. I agree that it van only be fully enjoyed in Mandarin, especially when you remember what's being said so you don't have to read the subtitles and are free to take in all the artistic details laced throughout the movie.
I can't really single out a favorite moment, the whole movie is just great. My favorite part of the movie, as in the whole production, was the music. As far as I am concerned, best.......... movie............. music.................. EVER!! By itself the music is awsome, but the way it accentuates the scenes is just brilliant. Just thinking about it makes me want to watch Hero all over again!

It can be confusing, so watch it again. It is MANY different stories. Nameless (jet li) tells the story but it is a lie. The emperor knows he is lieing so he then tells his own version of what he thinks actually happened, and then Nameless finally tells the truth.

She didn't die and come back- the whole movie was Nameless and the King of Qin talking, with many flashbacks and visualizations. They were all different versions of the same series of events.
