I wish I was rich so I wouldn't have to work:PCajunMadePunkYou'd still work. You'd be looking for something to do.
You'll be bored just doing hobbies alone. Waiting for the weekend to hangout with friends.lancelot200Nah, I wouldn't be bored... my hobbies are more than enough to keep me occupied as I'm easily entertained. Honestly speaking I'd be thrilled if I didn't have to work for the rest of my life.
I'm sticking with my unemployed life until I finish my studies. I tried that 'part time worker, while still in school' bit, but I didn't like it. And it just wasn't worth it.Racer_XLRand you've never had a problem getting a job in the first place?
I'm currently on an internship at a Japanese electronics manufacturing company. Only one week there so far but I've already learned a few new things... hoping to take many things away from this experience at least.silentexistenceAre you an engineer, by any chance?
and you've never had a problem getting a job in the first place?lancelot200Nope -- The job I had was in fast food. A monkey could do the job I had. I was honestly surprised I got something so quick and without any trouble at all. Once I go through internship, then finish, I know I'll find a job within my field.

I hate welding, so boring. But for several weeks, I found a fun job where all I did was cut metal and put it in a pile all day, wished they kept me doing that more, better than what I do now.mitu123Wouldn't welding require more effort than sheet cutting?

It does though, been doing it for years, I do like the pay I get, hope to go shopping soon.
For a semester or two you work for an actual company instead of taking classes to get some work experience. julian_jrOh, sounds like the internship I'm doing now then. Is the pay an allowance or a salary? What I'm getting here is an allowance which is roughly a third of the salary I could expect if I was holding this position for real.

It's an actual salary from a real company. I'd be getting payed around $16 - $18 hourly and be working full time for one semester.

I assumed per hour.horgen123Didn't want to assume because due to my experience I would be leaning towards per day.
I may be doing co-op this coming Fall semester. I've been putting consideration into it, and things are looking as though that may occur! I'd be living on campus as a full time student and only have to take a single class. Meanwhile I'd be getting paid for working full time at my job and get some work experience! The pay's not that bad either, it's on average around $16-$18 an average for a CS co-op job.julian_jrThat is so awesome, lol.
If this happens then I'll be going to school, but not taking any classes for a semester. I'll be behind by a bit, however it'll be worth it in the long run since I'll already have a company that will want to hire me the second that I graduate school (that's usually what happens). And yeah it'll be such a nice semester. There won't be the stress of class and I'll be in college with money... Something that's usually unheard of lol. julian_jrWhat's one year of university for participating in a co-op program.
