I agree. Gold and property is what you call an investment. comics is what kids would call an invstmentSandulf29I want to try currency speculation once I have enough capital to not be too bothered by its disappearance
My drawing hobby is now useful for making designs of the levels for LBP2. :o Most of the ones I made so far are pretty bad but I think I've got a good one now. I just need some more ideas....koolkat14How long does it take to create a level in that game? Perhaps I could make up some ideas...

But somehow it seems risky to me. I would rather go for gold, jewelry or property if I had money. There are the safest bets. Plus the way gold prices are going these days

It depends on the individual, what kind of level he/she wants to make and what kind of tools required. Basically if you wanted to do a say...top-down RPG level, you need to think on what kind attacks a certain characters should have, how much health bar you want to give to the character, what kind of enemies you want to put in the level, putting a story in the game, making the layout of the level and the list goes on. Once you figure that out you need to figure the right kind of logic for it and it isn't easy (well for me). In fact, someone on LBPCentral is working on a Sonic level and this is how much logic he/she needs for for the Sonic sackbot:
Â
And that's with the sequencers closed. Impressive? Yes. Overwhelming? Definitely.Â
If you're making a platformer level like the one I'm currently doing you really don't have that much logic to think of. Still, if you're willing to sit for say, three to six hours in trying to make the logic and such, you'll most likely be able to complete in around a few months or so (with some help from your friends of course). If you've one to three hours to do all that, expect to take a LONG time to complete te level. Of course, I'm just guessing on how long you need to finish a level. Like I said it varies.
Well many people tried that with Yen and all. But somehow it seems risky to me. I would rather go for gold, jewelry or property if I had money. There are the safest bets. Plus the way gold prices are going these daysSandulf29It is risky, but it pays off nicely depending on how much you put in. Jewelry is not a real investment.

You don't need to buy physical gold. You can invest in the market.
I'd do currency trading, stocks, real estate (my home), shares (if I'm that rich), banks accounts, and commodity trading (I'd have to do some research on it though).
i know. I just discovered about gold stocks last year and went :shocks:
I don't have much money to invest around. So whatever I have I just put it in bank for interest. Plus as a student this is a secure thing for me. I might get into such things in future when I get money from job.
Which currency you go for in currency trading. I have heard Yen and Deutschmark are good choices.
And you are 20 right? Where do you get all this money? You do work?Â
I said I would do. I'm not doing this now. I'll have to have a career first. Save my money to a solid number in the bank account. Maybe 5K to live in the bank at all times. A checking's account at about 3.5K. From there, I'd save up another 5K. I'd probably pick a troubled stock with potential for short term and some long term deals. All depends on pricing. If Blackberry is still kicking then I'd pick that. People always think it will crash or soar. It's a great deal since if it's bought out I win if it creates a great product I still win. Keep saving some money through the year for other investments. I've got my whole life.
The Deutschmark no longer exists. Germany has the Euro. Can't speculate on the what currency until said time arrives.
A stock is just a way for businesses to levy money from the public. In essence, a stock is a share of the profit of the company. There stocks attached with voting decision and some without it. The market is where people go to buy and sell stuff. Stock market is the combination of both. When company goes public (ie, Google, etc), it sells company shares.
Nah. I just know stuff from reading/watching the news. I did, however, take intro to macro economics. Facinating stuff. Did you know that banks essentially creates money? I'm doing a bachelor of arts.Â

LOL I knew what stocks are. I just don't know how to pick companies. I once tried to read a book on it. I forgot the name, but it told how to pick stocks and all. But never got much interested. besides keeping tabs on all companies on market seems like heel of an effort to me. maybe I will get into hat some day.
Interesting. I always think of banks as a business scheme; putting my money in your pocket, making charges, they give us small profits for it but they keep most of it  Good thing about bank is security its bigget USP.
I think thats what you mean by creating money. I don't think banks have right to print money.
Chosing companies is about buying low and selling high. I don't know many investing worthy company. I just knew Black Berry would be a decent shot. I could always buy Berkshire Hathaway. I'll never have enough money for that one.
Banks take your money and transform it into demand deposits. They use your money to create loans and so one and so forth and across multiple banks. So, 1000 dolars can effectively become 9000$Â
What I meant but said it a different way. But thats how I have thought of banks  But its good since they offer security and are covered under insurance.
1000$ becoming 9000  I had never thought it would had been so high. Probably those family bank owners and share holders are so filthy richÂ
