Apatheism for me, I don't care if a deity exists or not, people can live their lives believing what they want as long as they don't bother me with itPrincess-peachI can not agree more with this. Why is it so hard for religious people to not bother others with their beliefs? I'm certainly not bothering them them, imposing my (lack of) beliefs on them, why can they not return that favour?
I guess I'll say Athiest.TAMKFan
Atheist... Shouldn't come as a surprise given how secular Norway is. horgen123Â Â
What made you two this way?
Apatheism for mePrincess-peach
Is... is that really a term?

They're trying to save you from your own heathen-selves. Now recite the Act of Contrition!!
America was never a Christian nation.
It was just made of of mostly Christians.
It's a subtle but distinct difference.
And Easter's just as much a Jewish tradition as it is Christian.
And Christmas is Pagan....
Being as secularised as we are, it has certainly lowered the anti-abort demonstrations from Christians :P horgen123lolwut.
Very good.
I threw that in as a random thing... I've just wondered how the debate seem to come and go in US, while here it is something we never talk about. :P horgen123
They talk about it a lot in America.
Lotus: Yes it is, it's apathy towards religion I don't give a crap either wayPrincess-peach Â
What did God ever do to you??? :(
I'm a Christian, but only because I was born into a Christian family. While I believe in God, I don't go to church or practise anything else involving my religion; I'm not a religious person at all.silentexistence
So you beleive, but you don't practice? It doesn't much sound like faith.
I'm on the fence of believing in a God or not, perhaps I should just go with Atheist. I believe in ghosts though, who says ghosts and God are connected? I'm also not a religious person at all, and I hate churches.Toph_Girl250
You... are all over the place. Interesting.
Like I said, I'm only a Christian because I was born into a Christian family. If not, I'd likely be an atheist now. I've raised way too many questions about my religion for me to have much faith in it anyway. So you beleive, but you don't practice? It doesn't much sound like faith.

Being curious isn't a sin, but you just have to remain, or at least try to remain, obedient.
As for why things happen. They happen because we choose for them too.
There are some things I simply cannot see the reason for. Disabled offspring? People who don't deserve riches becoming even richer and people who are good and kind remaining poor? Loved ones passing away in accidents? We certainly didn't want them to, or choose for them to happen.Being curious isn't a sin, but you just have to remain, or at least try to remain, obedient.

Those are quite bad incidents, but don't you think it's a little selfish to attribute everything bad to be his doing? We certainly don't attribute the good to him, usually. Once, everything was perfect; like he made it. It was we who royally buggered everything up.
I really don't know. That's why I said "I guess".TAMKFanSo, you don't believe there is a God of any kind?
I think all things that can be left up to "fate" or "chance" as they usually are can be attributed to being God's doing, regardless of whether they're good or bad - winning the lottery, narrowly escaping a life-threatening situation, and all the negative examples I named in my previous post. I'm certainly not saying everything bad should be blamed on God. I know He leaves the freedom of choice up to us, such as whether or not to believe in Him, and as such I feel that bad things resulting from our actions really can't be helped, since, hey, we asked for it. It's the things that are out of our hands that I have issues about. Those are quite bad incidents, but don't you think it's a little selfish to attribute everything bad to be his doing? Just because the gun's out of our hands, doesn't mean it's in His.
Doesn't mean it's not though. We can't know. We just have to trust that He knows best. A.K.A., faith.
God is all-powerful, so if the gun isn't in His hands, whose is it in? In any case, trust is hard to come by for me personally. I'm definitely not so perfect as to have my faith completely unshaken after having things happen around my family and I that were totally unnecessary and could've just been avoided by some... intervention, I suppose the word is. Just saying.Just because the gun's out of our hands, doesn't mean it's in His.

Welcome to Humanity. We're far from bloody perfect.
Just read SW....
I'm not in the mood to debate about this deity of yours, Lotus, however I will say that I can't believe that any respecting deity would have allowed humans to have become this way...if they are in His image then I don't want any part in itPrincess-peachYou forget choice....
Lotus-EdgeI never have, I believe God is humanity's own creation to feel better with themselves, to have a purpose in life and that's just fine as long as they don't sacrifice themselves for this
I know. That's why I don't.silentexistence   Do it for the lulz.
I never have, I believe God is humanity's own creation to feel better with themselves, to have a purpose in life and that's just fine as long as they don't sacrifice themselves for thisPrincess-peachSo... there is no purpose, no point, to anything?
How nihilistic....

[QUOTE="Lotus-Edge"]And what questions are these.silentexistenceQuestioning why God allows certain things to happen. And with that apparently I have sinned since we aren't supposed to question Him. Too many questions... What I hate about Christianity is this insane focus on sin. If your parents sinned, you have sin too.
always have been nihilisticPrincess-peachBut Nihilism is paradoxical.
Unfortunately in this case the lulz would burn my brain.silentexistenceIt's good for you, lol.
