Kris Norris left Darkest Hour =/
#211 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
I know someone left Darkest Hour. As long as it's not the vocalist.
#212 Posted by _Doomsayer_ (18616 posts) -
Nah, it was their great guitarist. The article said they already have a replacement and are planning to work on a new album very soon.
#213 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
Guitarist are a dime a dozen. :P I don't think that it will influence them much. Then again, maybe he does a great deal for the band.
#214 Posted by _Doomsayer_ (18616 posts) -
I don't think it will be a HUGE setback for them, otherwise they wouldn't rush into studio to record that fast. The album is scheduled for release in Spring '09.
On a side note, The Haunted's new stuff is sounding good so I'm looking forward to that one.
#215 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -

I listen to some of the new songs on their MySpace page. I don't listen to them enough to be bothered by the new vocalist.

#216 Posted by julian_jr (83416 posts) -
I'm now listening to techno stuff. :P
#217 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
Care to give some artists? I know Benny Bennassi.
#218 Posted by julian_jr (83416 posts) -
Daft Punkand ATC. I'm not sure if ATC would be considered techno or dance though.

Techno is a sub-genre of EDM....as is eurodance which is what ATC is.
#220 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -

EDM is dance music they are one in the same. ;)....though it is most commonly just referred to as dance music you won't hear people call it "Electronic Dance Music" often but that's what its actually called......and if you want to go further EDM is a sub-genre of Electronic music but honestly who really cares? :P
#222 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
I thought you were trying to say that EDM was Eurodance Music. Hence why I said my comment because Dance music is not just about Europe. :P

Has anyone listened to Blue (da ba dee) by Eiffel 65? It's the song that is being played for events at my school this year, and now I've got it stuck in my head.
#224 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
That song is really old, but everyone of my age group should know it.
#225 Posted by julian_jr (83416 posts) -
It's not that old, it's just from 1999.
#226 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
That's old for pop music.
#227 Posted by julian_jr (83416 posts) -
Not too old in my opinion. As long as it's good I don't care.
#228 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
I love(d) that song. We use(d) to sing along to it.
#229 Posted by julian_jr (83416 posts) -
I had heard it before, but I never knew what the actual name of the song was so I could never find it.
#230 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
Blue + song would have done it probably. :P
#231 Posted by julian_jr (83416 posts) -
I didn't really notice the first part said blue. I just remembered the da ba dee part and had to search for a while.

I think my sister has the cd or a cassette. I also think they are a one hit wonder.
#235 Posted by julian_jr (83416 posts) -
Yeah, that's the only song I know of them. It's still a good song though.

By definition no....they have multiple hits in the top 40....but Blue was the only song that charted in the United States and was the only song that received a lot of radio attention but in Europe they were very popular.....I prefer their song "Move Your Body" over "Blue" personally.
#237 Posted by lancelot200 (61977 posts) -
I remember "Move Your Body". Didn't know it was them. Still a one hit wonder...
#238 Posted by julian_jr (83416 posts) -
I've never heard to "Move Your Body" before, although then again I never really heard of this group.

Very popular band in Europe for their short span....not really popular in the US other than their song "Blue".

So I'm looking for more music, and was wondering, what songs from the 1980s (mainly rock genre) were the best.
