I never heard of them until now. But I do like At the Gates so I'll have to check them out.

Wow, this thread works! :D Some of their songs have more melody than At the Gates, but they're still pretty good.

I like The Haunted. It's a lot more Thrashy then anything by At the Gates.

Yeah The Haunted is great. Been listening to Obituary's new one too. Evil Ways really got me hooked.

Anyone else like Darkest Hour? I think they're pretty good. Another newer band I liked, Light This City, just broke up not too long ago, which kinda bums me out since I had a chance to see them in concert but couldn't because things came up.

I really like Darkest Hour. They're playing July 15 with At the Gates. From right now it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it. =/

I was bored last night so I was watching music videos on demand. I was watching a Slipknot one and I don't know what you guys think but for a band with an excessive ammount of members, they aren't that talented.

To be honest I like to listen to Slipknot, even though I don't as much as I used to since they have nothing new out, but most of their members just pretty much screw around on stage. I think Joey Jordison is a pretty good drummer though.

I haven't listened to Slipknot properly in years. I'm usually listening to Slayer, Kreator, Behemoth, Wintersun, Pantera, Morbid Angel, King Diamond, Sepultura, Megadeth, Opeth, Iron Maiden, At the Gates, and Immortal.

I'm not sure how old school you are. Are you into the extreme like Venom? Do you know many of the NWOBHM or Bay Area Thrash?
I'm starting to like godsmack a little.Racer_XLR
I used to be big on Godsmack before I moved on to Heavier stuff.

I used to be big on Godsmack before I moved on to Heavier stuff.

so many Godsmack songs sound alike to me. I do mainstream metal, not really thrash. I do branch out to alternative stuff like Alice in Chains, STP, etc every once in a while.

It's a good thing they sound good to start with, but I got tired of listening to them a while back. Might have to start again since it's been a while. Listening to Corrosion of Conformity right now and I absolutely love them. Big fan of Pepper Keenan.

I just heard Soulfly's new song, Conquer, on Headbangers' Ball, and it sounded pretty awesome. Also heard a new song from Slipknot, All Hope is Gone, and it sounded good.

From what I've heard it sounds like every other album from Soulfly, so that's either good or bad depending on whether you like them or not (good for me), and from what I've heard from Kataklysm I liked.
