I was browsing YouTube, and I came across this guy's video. Just out of curiosity, how do the thought patterns of this guy mirror, or contrast, with your own?

Nah that guy is what we call an angry atheist. He's not as much representing atheism as he is just hating on religion.

I agree with his views that Jesus stayed dead once he died and that the threat of hell is a pernicious tactic. Other than that the guy is just being an ass.

He's just as narrow-minded as the Christians he hates. How does he know God isn't taking a nap or vacation? I've imagined God to be like a scientist, the Universe is its experiment and Earth is just another little dish of bacteria to God.

The man also sounds like his mind was programmed by marxist new world order elites. His ideas of banning religion and forcing everyone to worship the Earth (or Gaia) are frighteningly authoritarian. The typical modern environmental extremist will only promote the destruction of civilization and the typical modern socialist liberal will only promote the loss of human liberties, both are very regressive.

As Domatron said, he is what we call an "angry atheist". He is an equivalent to the fundamentalist of atheism. Remember that most of the time it is the minority that is the most vocal.

I think the part where he told that teaching religion to children is not a good idea, actually made some sense. Think about it children don't have wisdom like a grown-up but can still understand simple logic like : *god created you so you must obey, love, worship god and if you don't you would burn in hell for all eternity*. A 7 year old may not be wise enough to question god's existence(without external stimuli) but intelligent enough to realize and be afraid about the fact that he/she doesn't want to go to hell. From my personal experience I've seen some of the most intelligent people, who have been brought up in a fairly religious family, to not be able to think clearly about the subject *god does not exist*. Sometimes it seems like their brains will crash if pushed further on the topic.

I really like Patman. He's straight to the point and doesn't stand for any poop. Sure, he seems angry, but that's just because, like the rest of us here, he's sick and tired of having the same rubbish forced upon us, day in, day out, in an attempt to 'enlighten' us and to 'spread the word'.

To be fair, my views are very similar to his.
