Yu Suzuki, you better have at least an HD remaster of Shenmue 1 and 2 after this at E3 now. At least.

Shenmue will be an Xbox One exclusive, just like the previous games.

The most infamous sequence in Shenmue had you driving a forklift, it's become sort of an in joke.

I wonder if Phil Spencer's "New IP" was actually Microsoft and Yu Suzuki relinquishing the rights from Sega for Shenmue, creating remasters for the first and second game and finally allowing Yu to create Shenmue 3....

I think you are right that Microsoft has more money than Sony.

But I think PlayStation has more money than Xbox.

Plus Sony has the Yakuza games so Shenmue on Xbox will compliment the consoles really well

You don't know what that division is capable of getting out of the parent company, the reality is the parent company for Xbox is extremely rich while the parent company for PlayStation is by all accounts poor.

I want to play these games at some point but not until a Shenmue 3 is out.

@nyadc: And the previous Shenmue games were on the original Xbox but never on a PlayStation console. That's bound to help and speaks worlds about the relationship between the two companies.

MS may have the money to buy the licence , but it will not buy it.

Why? Easy , because they got Mojang and Minecraft - the biggest thing right now - so getting Shenmue just to make 1mill sales is not worth it for them

You should just buckle down and do it, even though the lack of a third game has bothered me for the last 14 years, I still enjoyed every second I have spent on my 20'odd play-throughs of the first and second game.

Shenmue 2 was on the original Xbox, not Shenmue 1.

And anything can happen. The last Star Ocean title released first on Xbox 360 last gen and yet this gen it's exclusive to PlayStation consoles.

Also, Gio Corsi, head of Sony's Third-Party Productions said in an interview that "Shenmue is at the top of the list. We're working hard to bring it to PlayStation".

TL:DR - Shenmue could go anywhere. Nothing is set in stone. Hell, it could be a Wii-U exclusive.

Been wanting to play the Shenmue games but not sure if I want to without a third one confirmed. Hate games being incomplete. Would be good to see a third.
