Youtube now officially supports 60fps

You don't need to use the 2x speed trick. Keep in mind only newly uploaded videos seem to work.

Update: Besides Google Chrome, Internet Explorer is also supported. Safari seems to be aswell going by neoGaf. FireFox is still unsupported.

You need to watch in 720p or 1080p. They now have 60 next to them to indicate the fram rate. Unkown regarding higher resolutions

@Gue1: Yeah everyone can use it now. At some point in the future all existing videos that were uploaded at 60 fps will also be viewable in 60 fps. Right now it's just new uploads, though.

From what I've seen it supports 720p and 1080p for 60 FPS, 4K was still 30 FPS.

@migelpsp: Frames per second. This update is pretty useless though because the human eyes can't see above 30 Fps. Anything higher just makes it easier for youtube to upload and then it's automatically displayed at 30 Fps.

Got one of my videos working at 60fps.

4k60 even with Youtube encoding would be a huge amount of bandwidth. I doubt their servers could handle that on mass scale right now.

Will it have an option to lock the videos at 30fps for purists .? Some of them just can't see beyond 30fps. That's a major issue here .

60 fps doesn't look good for many games. A slow paced game like silent hill 2 looks way better at 30

There's no point. All its going to show 60 fps for is Nintendo and PC games. PS4/X1 don't do 60 fps.
