Your top 3 best looking games of 2014

So this year has been fantastic for the number of amazing looking games it has produced both on consoles and PC. We're only one year into this new console gen, devs haven't even started to optimize or utilize the hardware to their full potential and already we're getting some rather noteworthy visuals. So here you list your top 3 most beautiful or best looking games in your own eyes, it can be either technical or artistic 1080p or not. Of course I encourage to post your screenshots or gifs etc to better illustrate your point. This gen has only just started, next year we'll have heavy hitters like The Order, The Witcher 3, Batman AK, Uncharted 4 or Quantum Break to take over the rein, but for now here's my top three.

1. DriveClub

The most photorealistic game I've ever seen, the fully dynamic global illumination lighting, full PBR, insanely dense environment and ridiculously detailed car model pretty much stole the show for me, I put this comfortably over anything else out right now, being 1080p also helps to maximize the clarity on my TV.

2. Infamous Second Son

Yeah the crazy gpu particles, rain puddles, SSR, near perfect iq and 11million polygons really showed how good a ground up nextgen game can look.

3. Assassin's Creed Unity (PC max settings with down sampling)

When this game runs above 30fps, bugs free, aliasing free, it is truly a wonder to marvel at. The density of the crowd, the town and well baked GI are something else alright. Too bad the game isn't consistent in the technical integrity thus going down on my list, it has the potential to be at the top tho.

honorable mentions: Far Cry 4, Alien Isolation, Ryse PC, Dragon Age Inquisition.

Infamous Second Son is indeed a looker and I have to say that while not a full game, P.T. has some pretty stellar visuals....

but, you gotta have Captain Toad on that list.

DriveClub, Infamous Second Son, games nobody talks about anymore, except AC Unity, Ubisoft bashing is in vogue these days.

LOL insecureking trying to validate his purchase of 900pStation again by SW. Take out all the Sony exclusives out of your list in the OP. You are not fooling anyone. And just to run your wounds, no 900pStation couldn't even managed to top a 2010 PC game. Remain salty.

I haven't bought that many games this year for PC. I've been playing older games, such as Skyrim, Rise of Nations, and Rome II. So, my list consists of Wii U games.

1. Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze
2. Bayonetta 2
3. Mario Kart 8

Super Smash Bros and Dragon Age would probably nudge a couple out of the list, but I have yet to buy/play either.

P.T. is pretty ridiculous. I thought it was a tremendous "demo."

kidtendo use simplistic art style so it isnt hard to make their games look good.

Kojima said he downgraded PT's graphics on purpose, to trick gamers into thinking it's some kind of indie game.

Cool if true. P.T. scared the bejeesus out of me.

2 and 3 are debatable but Drive Club is no doubt the best looking 2014 game. Is there a problem with him picking the obvious and undeniable winner or does the mere mention of a PS4 exclusive wining at something make you rage?

3. Toss up between Alien Isolation and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

Driveclub once you get past its bad AA solution, the game looks spectacular

Alien Isolation on the PC looks great, the atmosphere the game creates is phenomenal

Farcry 4 on the PC looks very good as well

Infamous Second Son, GTA5 and Forza Horizon 2.

1/ Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Not sure how that can be argued, the game has the most stunning environments of any game ever and it runs really well.

2/ Assassin's Creed : Unity (PC)

3/ Alien Isolation (PC)

Honourable mention for Dragon Age : Inquistion (PC)

Photo-mode not needed to make any of the above look good.

Alien Isolation and Metro 2033 redux are both highly atmospheric lookers on max. Unity is probably my third choice, but considering all the bugs, it doesn't' seem fair. I guess I'll go with Mordor instead... 'dem Orks!

It seems (factually) a pc game about radio controlled airplanes currently looks better than any console exclusive.

Bayo 2

1. Probably AC Unity on PC from a pure technical standpoint, great graphics, open world, lots of npcs and much going on at the same time.

2. Vanishing of Ethan Carter, it looks great and runs really well.

3. Maybe Ryse PC, Mario Kart 8 (looks really good for a wiiu game) or Infamous SS

Captain Toad is so damn colorful and gorgeous. I guess Infamous SS was nice, but I didn't really enjoy the game too much. Still need to finish it honestly.
