The first major firmware for PlayStation 4 has just released. It updates the console to version 2.0 and adds ton of exciting new features such as Share Play, USB Media Player, Themes, Pause Download and many other things. Did PlayStation Network sustained incoming load?

According to reports coming out from users on PlayStation forums, Reddit and other social media platforms, PlayStation Network is currently down, and as soon as they try to login an error message pops-up "NW-31201-7"

Users Complaining About PSN Outage After Installing Firmware 2.0:

Chris Owen, PlayStation Community Manager has admitted that currently there is some issue with PlayStation Network and engineers at Sony are already at work to fix it as soon as possible. Via Twitter, Chris Owen said:

There is a little bit of network instability at the moment, engineers are investigating.

Yeah I don't think it's as bad. And it looks like everything is getting fixed fast on PSN but on the otherhand it has so much problems for a online paying service...

1. The ps4 launch was HUGE. it was the 1st "next-gen" system out, and with MS completely giving their fans the middle finger at lauch, Sony not only underestimated the amount of people who was wanting a ps4, but also at the amount of people the MS pissed off.

2. I don't know what game you're referring to with this part of your post, but if it's ISS, then you're clearly delusional seeing as ISS didn't even have a multiplayer component to begin with.

3. DC had problems on their end, not the psn. People was able to play other games when DC launched, just not DC online.

4. Apparently, it's just some users (with me being an affected one).

5. SSOD didn't send xbl servers into an oblivion because no one cares for SSOD. When each heavy hitting game came out this year thus far, at least someone on my bl on xbl was either playing it on day of, or a couple of days before. NO ONE played it yesterday, and I haven't seen anyone playing it today as of yet.

But you're more than welcome to continue to bash the PS4, even if your info is false. Let the bashing continue..

I go out for my 14th anniversary tonight but will be on later. Around 10pm my time but will also be playing in about 20 minutes for a good while as well.

It really is a series of comically bumbling misadventures watching this company try to manage PSN.

The biggest update of the PauperStation's short life and they can't get it right. What is going to happen when another big multiplayer game comes out? I am predicting AW will also be more of the same over at the company that gives you great creations like Move, Home, PS TV, and FiveClub.

Yeah see my friends are adults who buy games. I bet when you share games the streaming is going to be flawless also right? Live is a stronger network than PSN. Doesn't mean PSN is bad at all, just MS will not be out done in online infrastructure by Sony.

The network will crumble when all of their year saving multiplats hit soon. Who will get the blame for this one? Reggie? Oprah? Tom Cruise? Surely not Sony.

Actually I will be picking up a PS3 again probably for Christmas. Waiting to see what kind of black Friday deal I can get. Not a single reason for me to invest in Sony's Gen 8 hype machine.

Yeah you're ok if you're already logged into destiny, but PSN is down. Try accessing any PSN features atm and you'll see for yourself.

Loads of people having issues with various after the update, PSN sucks Sony should hang their heads in shame. Hope people will see the light and the Xbox gets the sales it deserves this holiday.

Can't be bothered to turn my dusty PS4 on to check.

I put my PS4 in sleep mode before going to work. It wouldn't turn on after I got home. I had to unplug the cord and then turn it back on the normal way. What a shit show.

I have no clue if that has anything to do with the update, but whatever.

I'm not surprised at all, and I'm not saying this to take a jab at PSN, it's more regarding the patch release process. Microsoft has an early preview program and has players assisting with de-bugging on a monthly basis. So before a monthly patch is released, it goes through numerous revisions and several bugs are ironed out pre-release(to public)

I'm sure Sony has their own QA process for that, but they have been keeping a low profile in terms of monthly system updates, and they suddenly decide to release this huge update that adds lots of different things.....that just increases the likelyhood of things going wrong in my opinion. They should have done what MS did, every month release a few features..if something goes wrong, well you have a smaller mess to fix. Anyways, good luck to those affected, I'm off to Sunset OVerdrive now, spectacular game I must say

I downloaded 5 free Dynamic Themes, so PSN is working fine on my end. Also shareplay is an awesome feature, who knew playing games in xbone mode would be fun.

It has a huge issue. It's getting it's arse kicked by PS4.
