In North America it probably is true but World Wide i really doubt it. If Sony stopped taking pre-orders it might be true.

Anybody who thought either one of the consoles was not going to sell out at launch this year was just fooling themselves. Console wars are not a sprint, it's a marathon. Launches are irrelevant 2-3 years down the line. Going by launches the PS3 should have been dead in the water but it caught up to the 360 and even surpassed it in most regions.

The problem with this is simple.

1- A so call developer on reddit since when developer talk about sales of hardware.

2-MS has less units for launch than the PS4 and will release in only 13 countries.

3-EU and Japan are big sony strong holds specially Japan where the xbox one will sell nothing.

4-Even on US what is been know is that the PS4 is outselling the xbox one.

So when you take this all into account you see this is nothing more than damage controls or something false,if the xbox one was selling just as hot we all know MS would be yelling it all over the internet.

Top Lel! What is there to defend? Sony got it right. They did EVERYTHING people wanted them to do after what they got wrong with the PS3. THEN, they amass a ton of games in 2013 for both the PS3 and PS4. Meanwhile, in LemBot Landonia, you have MS top brass talking about general entertainment whilst spending hundreds of millions of dollars to secure NFL content and you have a camera shoved in every box that you are paying out the nose for.. and the system itself isn't even holding a candle to the PS3 as far as games go.

There's a few things to take into consideration. Ps4's preorder numbers don't represent how many consoles will be available at launch. They are limiting stores to 10 preorders. For example, I talked to the store manager at Fred Meyer, and he said the store could only accept 10 preorders but will be receiving 35-40 consoles on launch day and there was a good chance of getting one without a preorder. He said that Sony is limiting the amount of preorders stores can sell because they want PS4 to be available to the general public.

All that aside, this looks like M$ PR bullsh*t at its finest and they're just trying to make it sound like their console is as desirable as a ps4.

even if it were true, people are probably just buying it to sell on e-bay to make profit.

They probably will both be sold out at launch. Numbers are going to be whatever they can manufacture and ship in time really.

I think for now there will be enough demand to keep buying what either Sony or MS make and ship to retailers. Who does better early next gen might result on who can get them out quicker, at least for a while.

Sony is relying too much on good faith, it was bound to happen. They should have put more effort into their launch lineup instead of trying to win the hearts and minds of forum dwellers.

I highly doubt it considering they're selling their product in less countries.
